Classy book, gorgeous pictures,

This review is from: A Dose of Rock 'n' Roll (Hardcover)
I'm stunnted by the presentation of this gorgeous book - it comes with a slipcover and signed and numbered by Nancy Lee Andrews. But the pictures are worth its weight in gold - rock icons of the 1970s in their prime include Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Keith Moon, Harry Nilsson, Bob Dylan, the Band, Donovan.
This is one of the coolest books in my collection.

A Dose of Rock 'n' Roll
I just received my copy of this book and could not put it down. The author's photos give the reader a gentle and intimate look into the lives of some of rock's well-known (and not-so-well-known) musical movers and shakers of the wonderful 70's, but maybe even more revealing is the commentary accompanying the great photos . . . soulful and gentle. A beautifully done book and a wonderful gift for anyone who lived and loved the music of those times.

I was waiting for the regular hardcover of this book to be released, but clicked on Amazon's link to the signed copy. With the discount off of the cover price, it was only about $12 more than waiting for the hardcover release. I am so glad I spent the extra bit of money because this book is truly a work of art. It is a limited edition of 2500. It is signed by the author and she also numbers your copy with your personal number out of the 2500 available. The book comes in a hardcover shell so that it is protected.
The photographs are gorgeous. There are color and black and white photographs. The author also writes blurbs as well as expanded text about the images. This book is perfect if you are a fan of the Beatles, the 1970s, rock and roll, popular culture, or art photography. There are photographs of everyone from Ringo Starr to a very young Angelina Jolie. This is a book I will treasure for a lifetime.

A Seventies Remembrance,

A Dose of Rock and Roll is a 70s music remembrance, combining photos of the who's who of rock and roll in that decade, with glossy, tantalizing photos, and a gripping text to go with it. A lot of the names collected here are no longer alive, like John Lennon, Keith Moon, Harry Nilsson, among others. Of course, the center idea behind the book is Andrews' love affair with Ringo Starr, how that helped her glide into the rock world. A nice piece of music history contained within its pages.

This is a great book of intimate photos of many rock icons. Especially Ringo, of course.

A BIG Dose of Rock 'n' Roll,
This review is from: A Dose of Rock 'n' Roll (Hardcover)
It's "A BIG Dose of Rock `n' Roll" in professional, yet delightfully candid, photos taken by Nancy Lee Andrews in the 1970s. Not surprisingly, there's a heavy dose of Ringo, her romantic partner during much of that decade; a possible criticism only if you're not a "Starr" gazer. However, her camera lens also got a little help from his many friends including John Lennon, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Keith "the loon" Moon, Harry Nilsson and many other famous faces featured in this high-end scrapbook of the rock world then. If a picture is worth a thousand words, Nancy's camera, photo tags and brief back stories say it all. Seeing is believing, so if you're a fan of The Beatles or crave a behind the scenes glimpse of rock `n' roll in the 1970s, buy it! The only thing missing is a good cup of coffee.

A Dose of Rock "n" Roll,

This review is from: A Dose of Rock 'n' Roll (Hardcover)
The quality of the book and pictures are very good however I was was lead to believe that the book had a good variety of the Beatles and accompanying stars. At a guess I would estimate this book is 90% Ringo Star, if you are a big Ringo fan great but if you are expecting more you will be disappointed.
