This review is from: Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Nietzsche (The Good in the Teaching of Tolstoy and Nietzsche: Philosophy and Teaching & Dostoevsky and Nietzsche: The Philosophy of Tragedy) (Hardcover)
Shestov is a very talented philosopher, the work Tolstoy and Nietzsche is excellent, he understood with such a feeling the inner moral struggle of both writers and reported it in this awesome work.
Dostoievsky and Nietzsche shows an even deeper thinking about life, and he depict the thinkings of Nietzsche and Dostoyevsky as the philosophy of tragedy, a more sounding understanding of life than he the utopia showed in others philosophical works.
The introduction by Bernard Martin is also a very good one, and help to understand who is Shestov and what his work aim for.
