Book Description

April 28, 2003 3 and up
It's as simple as one, two, three!
These fun connect-the-dots help children master their numbers and improve their manual dexterity. Kids won't even realize they're learning as they happily make pictures come into focus with their pencils. Plus, every spread has a "number line" on top to keep youngsters on track when they have trouble figuring out which dot comes next. Easier puzzles for the youngest set go up till ten, and feature favorite animals. There's a penguin, an elephant using his trunk to spray water, and a cute kitten among the delightful menagerie. Slightly older children can try their skills at counting to 50 as they complete more detailed and elaborate illustrations of an adorable koala in a tree, a whimsical monkey in a cart, and many more.

2.0 out of 5 stars needs better numbers! not European!, February 15, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dot to Dot Count to 50 (Paperback)
My son loved his first dot to dot book that went to 20 by this same publisher. I had to order the others. He just started this book that goes to 50 and it's tough. Instead of the standard numbers you would find on a typewriter, these are handwritten in European style, I guess you would say. The 1s look like 7s and the 7s are crossed.

It's very confusing for a 4-year-old. Why would a publisher do that?

1.0 out of 5 stars Agree with previous post, January 14, 2009

This review is from: Dot to Dot Count to 50 (Paperback)
I agree with the previous post about the European numbers. My 6 year old daughter is confused with the 1's and 7's written in the European style. I don't understand why the author would do that if this is a book to be used in the USA.

I do not recommend this book and would like to try to find another dot to dot for my daughter with standard American number format.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this, January 16, 2011
This review is from: Dot to Dot Count to 50 (Paperback)
I purchased this at a bookstore and returned it immediately. Not only do the 1's look like 7's, and the 7's are crossed, but the 9's look like g's. To make it worse, the front and back covers are misleading since they show normal 1's & 7's. Like the others, this would just confuse my daughter when she is trying to learn numbers.
