I love this bench... It's well worth the money I paid for it (100 dollars on a Friday sale)-- the color matches my home deco, the 'leather' is soft and had no 'synthetic smell' that other buyers had mentioned (for Global Distinction's other similiar items).

PS When I received the item from Amazon, the packaging box was very worn out, and there were scratches and dents on the rack and leg parts of the bench. However, Amazon immediately helped me fix the issue. Another happy purchase from Amazon :).

This is a solid bench, heavy and easy to put together and looks like a million bucks. It sits next to the front door to sit on while changing those heavy winter boots. I got it a week ago on the Friday sale for $70 and worth every cent. I gave it 4 stars because the box was torn through to the contents (could definitely be better packaged). It was knicked and scratched. I am still very happy with it as I can patch the damage myself, though I shouldn't have to. Word to the manufacturer... invest in better shipping materials.

This is the second bench that I have bought. I liked the first one so much that I came back for another. This bench is nice quality and sturdy. My family are not light weights. This bench has held over 500 pounds of people sitting on it at the same time without a creak! The bench is actually comfortable too. The seat has a nice amount of padding to it. Compared to other self assembly furnishings that I have purchased, this bench is rather simple to assemble. I have a transitional style to my home and this bench looks really nice. It looks more expensive that the price that you pay for it on Amazon. The seller was quick to ship. It arrived quickly, well packed and without any damage.

The bench came in the exact day it was supposed to. The box was kinda banged up but I checked all of the pieces immediatly and there's not a scratch anywhere on it. The bench itself is more black, no one had mentioned in any of the reviews so I thought some people would want to know. I got this bench for $75 plus $10 for shipping and the cheapest bench I could find anywhere(including Wal-mart) was at least $100 so this was a fantastic find! Don't even hesitate, it's beautiful and you can utilize the storage area underneath for your own personal stuff!

We bought this bench for our entryway. We chose it because it was such a good deal compared to other items we had seen, and we liked the mission-style look.

It arrived pretty quickly, and wasn't too difficult to put together, though if I remember correctly, you need two people to stabilize some of the pieces while you're assembling it. And a lot of room, because I had to kind of crawl underneath it. Not too bad, though.

It has held up really well (we've had it for about 6 months now), and I love the shelf underneath for shoes- it really cuts down on the clutter.

I really have no complaints about this item, and would recommend it, especially if it matches your decor.

It looks really nice for the price. The product came with 2 little nicks in the wood frame, but they were not very noticable, so we didn't return it. The space between the floor and the bottom of the magazine rack is pretty tight. If you clean your house with a Roomba, it might get stuck underneath.

Easy to assemble. More sturdy than I expected. Has a nice look and feel, especially for the price.

This is a big, hefty piece of furniture. No lightweight here. But that's what I wanted and boy did I get it. Unlike others mine had nary a scratch nor ding even though the box was war torn. I've seen combat Hummers with less wear and tear BUT nary a scratch on the inside. When said it is easy to assemble, it is easy to assemble. One hint. The pics suggest placing the seat on the top of the legs before screwing. I found that turning the seat over and placing the legs onto the seat and then screwing works better and easier. The legs simply slide into the top without any hassle. This is one sturdy bench and it well suited for almost anything you might want to use it for. It is used here for visitors waiting to use the computer and it works well.

Unacceptable - simply put. There was a rip on the bench fabric which of course is only visible once I unpack it - it is incredibly difficult to repack and dealing with a return is a nightmare. I should have listened to other reviews about packaging issue ... if you buy beware you would seem to have a good chance to get a dud. The factory could have spent $.50 more on a sturdier box. I returned and got a new one - which also had a rip ... come on. It was so small and in the pack that I decided to keep. They could have charged me twice as much and spent money on a better box and I would have been happy.

This bench looks very nice and "rich." However, there is no color officially listed in the details, and to me the picture looked black/espresso. However, the leather is dark brown, and the legs are a bright brown. Unfortunately this will not match our all black bedroom set. the quality is not bad, just wanted to give everyone a heads up!
