Okay, maybe nothing can make it easy, but with this pillow, it's at least possible, and quite fast to make happen. I've managed with strategically placed bed pillows, but it takes minutes to get together and only moderate success with quite variable results. With the EZ-2-Nurse Twins pillow, the guess-work is taken out of pillow positioning. My twins are one month old now, and I have to say that feeding them has been the _easiest_ part of learning how to live with them, thanks to this pillow. I have two of these--one blue and one twins print--and keep one upstairs and one downstairs for convenience.
Negatives: - Limited colors and prints, and no 'greener' alternative fabric or inner material. I find the twins print hideous but didn't have a choice when I bought my second one. - The pillowcase is a little hard to get back on after washing. - The protective pillow cover (cotton with plastic backing) slips off very easily--needs to be safety-pinned on to offer any real protection. - Limits you to the football hold while using the pillow. (I don't find this problematic because it happens to be my twins' favorite position anyway.
I gave the pillow 4 stars because of these negatives. I haven't tried any other brand of twin pillow, but I'd definitely recommend this brand to anyone who wants to breastfeed their twins. I was completely unable to use a breastfeeding pillow with my first (singleton) child (tried My Brest Friend and Boppy), but the design of this pillow, the way the top is angled down toward mommy's body, really helps. It positions the babies better for reaching the breasts, as well as keeping them from rolling outward. The harder foam construction also makes babies stay in position better. I bought mine used because I didn't know if this design would be a good fit for me; but I definitely find them worth the full retail price, now that I've tried them.
I bought an EZ-2-Nurse pillow about a month before my twins were born. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. With my first girl, I used boppes, but with twins, that's just not possible. This pillow has a foam core which offers greater support. It took some work to get them to nurse in tandem, but just having this for one baby at a time made a difference. I had to use the pump and supplement method for the first month. This pillow was great for that, because I could have the baby on the pillow to nurse and bottle feed. Once we got to tandem nursing at three months I could not live without the pillow! I bought a second one to keep in the car so when I went places I didn't have to carry the same pillow around all of the time. The girls used it until 14 months when they decided to wean. I was able to feed them both in a football hold at the same time, and it kept them from rolling off as easily. I highly recommend it. MAKE SURE YOU WASH THE COVER BEFORE FIRST USE! I got a nasty rash from the polyester cover. Had I washed it before use, I would not have had the problem. Also, get a second cover. That way you can wash one while using the other during nursing.
I have one month old twins, and although I still can't tandem feed, I really love this pillow. It is too big for trips to the store etc., but I'm mostly feeding at home, and this makes lathing on etc. so much easier!
I'm hoping to be able to tandem feed some day, and with this pillow it may be possible. It would not be without it. I don't know that I would still be breastfeeding without such a great pillow.
It sucks to pay $50 for a pillow, but its worth it.
Oh, make sure you bring it with you to the hospital too! You'll want to start breastfeeding there, and this will really make it a lot easier!
I used this pillow for two years to nurse my twins and I must say I couldn't have done it without this nursing pillow! It was an absolute life-saver!! I totally recommend the EZ 2 Nurse Twins Pillow to any mom expecting twins!! Fantastic product!!!
This is a pretty good nursing pillow. Its nice and firm which is a plus. Its a little big but with twins, I guess it has to be. My twins won't really nurse very much so we don't get a whole lot of use out of this pillow. But if you are nursing twins, particularly if you are nursing them at the same time, this pillow is a must. A boppy just won't cut it for twins.
