4.0 out of 5 stars Neat little game December 16, 2013
Verified Purchase
First, to all the folks posting negative reviews because Amazon charged them for this "Free app of the day", posting a negative rant on the app is not a path to resolution. Yes, Amazon screwed up. That's on them. It has nothing to do with the app itself being worthwhile or not. If you're pissed about getting charged for something you thought was free, contact Amazon support.

Anyway, my review of the actual app:

Fairly simple game where you are using a beam created between your thumbs to hit dots within a circle while trying to avoid others. The difficulty of the patterns escalates pretty quickly and occasionally is difficult to control without putting your phone down entirely. Some folks complain that the game "Pauses" all the time. It pauses if you take your fingers off the screen, so you have to keep your thumbs in contact with the screen.

If you don't like 90's techno music, this game is probably not for you, but if you do, then go for it! It is visually pretty cool and has a good pace since it does not force you to start at the beginning every time you open the app. For a FAOD, give it a shot; sorry to see the developer getting beat up over what is clearly Amazon's mistake.

5.0 out of 5 stars great new app... December 16, 2013

this is an extremely attractive and fun game. what I like about it is that it's something completely new. A lot of new games are coming out lately are just reboots of older games. this is completely original and challenging. The colors are very vibrant, the graphics are beautiful and the music is upbeat ever-changing.
now time to get onto the haters, first of all I was born in 1975. I was raised in the 80's I know 80's music. for all of you idiots that keep calling music contained in this game 80s music, your just that... The music in this game has LATE 90s techno flair... The children that call it 80s were probably born in 92. Next.... Don't rip a Dev because of an Amazon mistake.... The app is great, and the devs spent ,by the looks of it a lot of time on this game, and y'all just shred it because you were accidenlty charged.. Shame on those people.
And lastly if you have parental controls set, then you, yes you the consumer would have been asked for your password and you would have known that Amazon did not have it set up as FAOTD..... SO ALWAYS HAVE PARENTAL CONTROLS SET. I mean duh!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great app! September 22, 2013

This is a surprisingly good app. The basic premise is that you drag two fingers to two sides of the screen, which forms a line, and match the line up with circles on the screen. This app is surprisingly addictive, due to the amazing soundtrack. As you play, the game plays music for each new level. This music is very rhythmic and electronic, and works very well with the rest of the game. This app is developed by Double Fine, an independent game studio known for the action platformer Psychonauts, as well as the strategy action game Brütal legend. When I first heard of this game, I was skeptical due to the nature of the nature of the gameplay. After playing it though, I can easily recommend it due to the addicting gameplay and awesome soundtrack. My only complaint is the poor tutorial, as it will take a few tries to fully understand it. Overall though, five out of five.

5.0 out of 5 stars This game is swell! December 16, 2013

I've never rated an Android App before but this one is pretty great! The low ratings are due to a pricing mistake Amazon made and shouldn't be held against this game which is probably the best rhythm / action game I've played on a mobile platform. Music is really good and gameplay is fast, fun, and just the right amount of difficulty (fairly easy to keep progressing so nice for casual players, tough to 3 star a level which makes it good for completionists to give them more challenge). Definitely worth picking up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, upbeat, and enjoyable music December 16, 2013

Got this as the FAOTD. It isn't my most favorite game in the world, but it is far from the worst as well. I enjoyed playing with this for an hour or so, but I think I'm getting bored of it. At three dollars, I'd consider that a fair amount of money for an hour's worth of entertainment. I would have paid it and not complained a bit.

The graphics are simple, as is the game play. I do like how it is fast paced with upbeat music to keep you pumped and enjoying it. I think the music was my favorite part of the app. I'll give it points also for giving me something to play around with that is not a rehash of another game I've played 50 different versions of. Nice work on being original!!

If I had any suggestion, it would be to add a tutorial to get you familiar with the groundrules. I know this is easy to play, so a three-minute tutorial--even if optional--shouldn't be that far out of the question.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun game, different interface December 16, 2013

The game is a bit different than other games I've played before, and thats a good thing. It launches you right into the action without too much explanation. But there are just enough clues and hints to let you get started.

Seems like a great game for a quick diversion while waiting for an appt, but also immersing enough to keep you going for a while if desired.

Thanks FAOTD.

Different than other games I played. I think its fun. To each his own I guess. Your fingers don't have to be on the dots - Just off to the sides. When you lift your fingers the game will pause.

Fun game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but Repetitve
Great fun, but it got old pretty quick. This isn't something I imagine playing for hours on end, but it does give a fair amount of entertainment.

A great fun game related to music. It's different from a lot of games you find. I like it best when it is used with headphones. Highly recommended

The game tosses you in with no tutorial or explanation. I did a few levels and still wasn't sure what I was doing. Looked online for tutorials, and they weren't helpful. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars This is an okay game
This game is fun but it lacks fluid motion. I have installed this on my Kindle Fire HD, and my Hisence Sero 7 Pro and sometimes it does not respond to the movement of your fingers.
