About the Artist

DOUBLE H BIO Hailed as this generation’s most revered sexual icons, Heather Hunter has proven for over a decade that she is more than a pretty face with skills in the erotic. Heather is the first African-American woman to boldly cross racial barriers into mainstream entertainment through adult film. Recognized by her loyal cult of fans and referenced in songs by heavy-weight rappers like Lil Kim, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg and collaborating with Tupac Shakur, “Double H” has lent a strong hand in smashing taboos and leading the charge of sexual liberation. “I never really thought about it when I was doing it.” Heather admits. “I just knew what I wanted to do and made it happen. That’s just how I am.” Hustling on the streets of Harlem and Brooklyn was tough on Heather who would ultimately use those rough times as fuel for her unwavering ambition to succeed. Blessed in the arts of writing, painting, singing and dancing, Heather Hunter jumped off her career in entertainment with a local R&B group when she was in her teens. Bitten by the showbiz bug, Heather continued to feed her hunger for creative conquest. At the age of 18, she auditioned for a spot as a burlesque dancer that eventually led to a featured spot of the X-rated film “Heather.” Soon after, Heather Hunter became one of the hottest commodities in adult film and became the first and only African-American woman to be inducted into the Adult Film Hall Of Fame. Now a living pop culture staple, Heather has returned to her written roots with the album, Double H The Unexpected that brags the production wizardry of, DJ Premier and Scott Storch. Aaron Lyles, and her hot new music video “So Serious” featuring Wyclef Jean from gimmicks and other distractions from her talent, Heather Hunter gives the listener a three dimensional view into her complex mind. “People know me for many different things,” she explains. “But they really don’t know all of me. On this album, people get to find out what really makes me Double H.” Keeping true to her unpredictable nature, Heather Hunter displays her versatility with sharp edged songs like, “So Serious” and “In Love” that exposes her emotional thoughts. An album alone doesn’t even come close enough to fulfilling Heather Hunter’s insatiable passion for being number one. The soon-to-be crowned queen of media has penned her semi-autobiographical novel Where The Love Is and is releasing her collection of hedonistic art titled, The Hunter Collection. Heather is also releasing her acclaimed animated series Bullet Proof Diva in which she saves the world from an erotic yet evil hell. If there’s one thing for sure, Heather Hunter isn’t a woman to back down from a challenge; her extensive history proves it. With her remarkable sense of creativity and unbreakable work ethic, there’s no doubt that Double H will plant her flag in yet another form of entertainment.

1.0 out of 5 stars I Want Some Of What Y'all Are Smoking (1.5 Stars), August 30, 2005
This review is from: Double H: The Unexpected (Audio CD)
Okay, I know I'm probably going to be labeled a hater or something to that effect, but SOMEONE has to tell it like it really is since some folks use these reviews to determine whether or not they should buy an album, right?

First things first, I respect Heather "Double H" Hunter for approaching this album with a respect for the craft. But this album is nowhere close to 5 stars. I even see a Top 1000 Reviewer giving this 5 stars......that blows my mind. The beats are decent (courtesy of DJ Premier, Scott Storch, etc...), but they sound like throw away beats from an old Field Mob album or something. The skits and interludes are corny/horrible and they add nothing to the album. And even if you can get past all of these issues, the fact is Heather Hunter has no skill on the mic. Look at some of the lyrics from her first single (So Serious):

"...yeah, I'm a fancy broad / but try to cross me and I'm on you hard..."

"..I find y'all funny / gonna laugh at me while I get the money / watch you wanna be a rapper now / f*ck y'all haters / mad at my style..."

And the hook is godawful: "So serious / so sincere / so curious / so beware / It's not a problem / I can handle this, yo / It's not a issue of who you f*ckin' with / no"

Come on, the evidence speaks for itself. No self respecting fan of rap music can look at that and honestly call it hot. Let's be real. And this is the 1st single.....the song that's supposed to make the fans go out and buy the album. You have to be kidding. As far as the other songs, too many sound the same. One listen to "Suk-A" feat. Akinyele will have you laughing too hard to even finish listening. It contains one of THE WORST hooks I've ever heard in my life. Basically, Heather Hunter remade the same song 18 times....and apparently she's fooled 3 people (the other reviewers) so far. Even Mr. Cee's endorsement of the album is a joke because, if you're paying attention, you'll notice that he isn't actually saying anything.

I usually reserve some space in my reviews to highlight the positive aspects of an album, but I simply cannot think of any. Okay, some of the beats aren't totally wack. DJ Premier hooks Double H up with a good beat on "Freak Like Me". It's too bad Heather couldn't stay on beat though. And Scott Stroch (who is becoming more and more predictable) does a decent job on the boards for "Don't Stop", but Heather does nothing with it.

Is Double H: The Unexpected a 5 Star album? Only if you're judging this by her looks. Otherwise, it's probably more useful as a drink coaster. If this is classic to you, then you have no idea what classic rap sounds like. This album struggled to get the half a star that gave it. In short, this album is one royal stinker. Avoid this album at all costs. Hopefully she'll step up her lyrics and pick better beats the next time around. There you have it folks, that's the truth. Now bring on the unhelpful votes.

Standout Tracks: Don't even kid yourself.

PS - Ms. Wheeler, exactly what streets are feeling Heather's first single?

1.0 out of 5 stars When people dont know their place, July 21, 2006
This review is from: Double H: The Unexpected (Audio CD)
Dont get it twisted Heather Hunter is not a rapper she is a piss poor imitation of one. But if you had to consider her as a rapper then HH is the worst female rapper since Kevin Federline (lol!). The only postive side of the side of this album is the the beats provided by Scott Storch, DJ Premier and Aaron Freedom Lyles. HH couldnt rap her way out of a wet paper bag but Im pretty sure she could f--k her way out one easily! She couldnt rap on beat to save her life and guest appearances by Mister Cee and Akinyele make you lose any respect you had for these two. HH needs to stick to porn and leave rap to the experts!

1.0 out of 5 stars Her body sold the cd, August 28, 2007
This review is from: Double H: The Unexpected (Audio CD)
I am not the biggest rap fan,but I do like some.I love it when rap causes the listener to get caught up in the beat and fills him/her with emotion i.e rage,passion... SOMETHING!

This poor excuse for a music cd didn't do anything at all.

The lyrics were very generic(it reminded me of old school 80s rap)

The beats were nothing special,in fact;they were LAUGHABLE at times because they were so bad!

There is only one reason that Heather Hunter sold copies of this cd.Her looks and her past.Since she was a pornstar,it wouldn't suprise me if she did a few "favors" to get this crap released and promoted.

To HH and all (or more like the FEW) HH supporters;not liking something that sucks doesn't make you a hater............. it makes you HONEST!!
