5.0 out of 5 stars Spiritual, Moving, Inspiring, Hypnotizing and erotic!!!
This is the first Peruvian CD that I have ever purchased. It's very hard to explain what I feel when I listen to this music. It's like seeing a mountain range and trying to take a picture, only ending up with a flat dull image of a beautiful inspiration. Inkuyo is like that, they are the mountain range. 3.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
I already had Land of the Incas, and it's awesome. Then I got this and it's much less than awesome. The songs on here are generally uninteresting. If you're new to Inkuyo or to Peruvian-style music, get Land of the Incas instead.

The flute and drum beats will make you want to dance naked around a roaring fire. The huaynos are hypnotizing and erotic. The quechua language, mixed with some spanish, is amazing and beautiful. This is, in my opinion, the best of Inkuyo's recordings. Hypnotizing and erotic!!!

This CD was my introduction to Andean Music...and remains my favorite. This music is very rich and full of life...the album contains a large variety of moods and colors... No matter what your musical interst, you should find most (if not all) of the tracks moving. An excellent choice!

5.0 out of 5 stars From Andean peaks, June 22, 2006

From the snow-dappled heights of the Andes comes music, not just coffee.

This is a beautiful, peaceful album perfect for meditation. It uses both traditional&contemporary rhythms.Listening to this album (I had the cassette then, now I have the CD)in college brought me much peace.

The opening song is a beautiful introduction, using ancient rhythms. There isn't a single weak track. If you like Carlos Nakai, this is a perfect accompaniment.

Enjoy the music of Peru!

This is the most hypnotic music I have ever heard. I have all of Inkuyo's work, and this one is the most enchanting. It makes you feel like you are in another world.

I purchased this CD to replace the one I left in a rental car. I first heard Inkuyo walking through the quad at San Francisco State University in 1988. For me, the music is uplifting, celibratory, and magical. When I play Inkuyo, I imagine myself smiling and dancing along with the music on mountain slopes. Not all pan pipe music affects me this way; just Inkuyo. The choice of songs are truly grounded in the folk music of the Andes, and in turn, it grounds me and inspires a positive mood.
