fascinating vampire nove,
This review is from: Double Image (Paperback)
Once Tia Martell was a police officer but the deaths and depravity that were a normal part of her job sickened her until she quit. Nowadays she tries to make a living as a photographer with her latest assignment to take pictures of the stately homes in Natchez, Mississippi. It is at Bishop House that she meets the magnetically attractive Dallas Aldgate. They become involved when Tia snaps photos of a hit and run accident that is somehow connected to Dallas. Despite his better judgment, Dallas has a hard time fighting his feelings for Tia, and soon brings her into his own world of the vampire in order to save her life. Dallas has made an enemy of his own kind, one who will do anything to destroy Dallas and all he cares about. DOUBLE IMAGE is a fascinating vampire novel focusing on a creature struggling to with the tough and evil image he expects of himself. Tia is a heroine in every sense of the word because of her ability to look beneath the surface and see the true reality of a person and not the projection her beloved portrays. Fans of the paranormal will want to read Jaye Roycraft's cleverly crafted novel. Harriet Klausner

A Vampire's World of Menace and Sensuality . . . .,
By
This review is from: Double Image (Paperback)
Double Image by Jaye Roycraft was expertly written. This book has something for everyone and should NOT be missed!Dalys Aldgate has existed for 235 years as a vampire. His soul is left behind and he becomes a mirror for humans to gaze into. They can see their fantasies revealed, never knowing that there is a monster on the other side. Today, he is living in Mississippi as a reclusive owner of a hunted inn. He is trying to make peace with his past. Ex police officer, Tia Martell is now a freelance photographer. While on assignment to photograph old mansions in Natchez, Mississippi, a strange murder brings her in contact with Dalys (Dallas) Aldgate. He is the coldest, most handsome man she has ever met. His eyes are so strange, so hypnotic, she is helplessly drawn to him. And he is drawn to her strength, vulnerability and beauty . . . Tia is determined to unravel the mystery surrounding the reclusive Dallas Allgate. But before she can, a young vampire and his master, Jermyn St. James targets Dallas for revenge. Jermyn St. James wants to kill Dallas and now upon seeing Tia, he wants her, too. This story was full of action, suspense and brimming with sensual love scenes. Another vampire, one who is called l'enforcier, makes an appearance. What an appearance it is, too!! It is almost an guarantee that his story will be available soon. This story should NOT be missed. Enjoy!!

This review is from: Double Image (Paperback)
Jaye Roycraft is the lastest author from Imajinn books to create a lasting vampire story. The story of Dalys Aldgate a 235 yr old vampire.. a Londoner wrongly accused of crimes he is sent to Austrailia as a convict.. were he sharpens his survival skill further but the bush also bestows on him the ultimate gift of survival a journey to the Other Side his soul left behind. Dalys becomes a Mirror for those still human - a polished surface upon which the living can project their fantasies never seeing the "monster" on the mirror's other side. Tia Martell is an ex-cop trying to adjust to life as a photographer.. and to put the years of violence and death behind her. However while she is on assignment murder brings her face to face with Dalys and then in turn a young Vampire and his master.. bent on revenge. In Dalys Tia find comfort.. he understands the pain of which she has witnessed when she was a cop. The story is again original and anyone who is a lover vampire romances with love this book... Imajinn have prodused some super authors.. and Jaye Roycroft is one of them..This is a book that once you begin you'll not want stop until the end. If your like me.. great piece of entertainment.

Vampires, where?,
By
This review is from: Double Image (Paperback)
Dalys Aldgate, and enigmatic vampire of 235 years, had a bad time of it as a human. But, as a vampire, he is able to relax. Becoming the owner of a haunted hotel in the small town of Natchez, Mississippi he enjoys a life of solitude. Until Tia Martell, and an enemy from his past come into his life and stir things up.
Tia Martell has had a tough life herself. An ex-cop turned photographer, she is still haunted by the death and violence she saw in her previous job. While on a photo shoot in Natchez she crosses paths with Dalys and there is instant chemistry. But she also falls into the sights of Jermyn St. James, a vampire out for revenge on Dalys who is willing to use anyone, even Tia, in order to punish Dalys. Needless to say she finds herself in a very uncomfortable position; once again facing the death which she had run away from as a cop. But this time she is not alone. She has the protection of Dalys who will stop at nothing to protect her against St. James and the evil he represents. I found this book to be at the very least interesting. It is not anything too special, but if you are looking for a good quick read, I would suggest Double Image. The way the book was written was refreshing and different, being most of the commentary coming from Dalys, instead of Tia(unlike most vampire books, where the main commentary comes from the female). As a vampire fan, though, I would have to say I am disappointed in this book, it did not focus too much on the fact that Dalys was a vampire. I found myself forgetting that Dalys and St. James were, indeed, vampires. I gave this book four stars as the writing of the book, and the plot itself, where good. I am just disappointed that it did not focus as much on the mystical aspects of vampires. p.s. please forgive me for any grammatical mistakes as I am only 15 and still have these types of problems. Oh yea, and if you are wondering if this book is `OK' for your 15 year old to read, the answer is yes. The sex scenes are tastefully done and nothing too indecent takes place in this book. (for a vampire book that is, ;) )

I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down after the first page. This was one of the most believable vampire books I have read. The characters seemed so real. I am eagerly waiting for my order of Afterimage and just wish this author had more books out.

Dalys Aldgate is a 235 year old vampire, a former convict sentenced to transportation to Australia. Tia Martell is a former cop turned photographer on assignment in the South. She meets Dalys, now Dallas while photographing his Inn and is fascinated by him. Things speed up when another vampire wishing to revenge himself on Dallas enters the picture and threatens Tia as well. This was a pretty quick read and I really enjoyed it. This series is always entertaining.

This book was good and very realistic. Very suspenful and action pack. Dallas was very interesting as a hero. A killer at that. But he did not love Tia is was just lust in my opinion. Tia begs him to stay with her. Besides the story happens in five days of action and suspense. Tia was good heroine who fell head over heels in love with Dallas. Looking forward in reading more from this authur. In fact I am reading after Image as I right this review."Death Sucks!" |
