5.0 out of 5 stars Two Books In One
For those wondering where to buy or not, this is (The Target and The Edge) together in one book. I enjoyed both books very much and still re-read them from time to time, but I would be very disappointed to order this book and find out I already have it in two other novels.

1.0 out of 5 stars "The Target" and "The Edge" are combined into one book
and I was very disappointed since I have both books. I thought we were getting another great book by Catherine Coulter....only to find that it's a republishing of previous books is really disappointing. Hopefully not too many other people who are Coulter fans and who have both The Target and The Edge won't get taken in to buy Double Jeopardy. Then those who have not...

5.0 out of 5 stars Both are excellent books if you have never read them, June 9, 2008
I am glad that I read the first customers review more in depth before purchasing this book off my wish list. I have already read both of these and didn't realize that they were reissues together under a different cover. The Maze was the first book I ever read by her and was hooked. Excellent book, and I still believe her best to date. But both of these "The Target" and "The Edge" are good books in their own right as well.

Beware!!!! Yes, I LOVE Catherine Coulter, and yes, her books are great, but DOUBLE JEOPARDY is NOT a new book but a book that contains two of her older books!!!
When I received this book I was thrilled. When I saw that it contained 2 books I had already read, I was ticked off. If you have already read "The Target" and "The Edge", do not buy this book as you will have wasted your money as I did!! I rated it high just so you would read this.

Second time in a row Catherine Coulter has slapped a new title on previously released books in a series. I can tell you how irritated I am. Email her your thoughts at: readmoi@gmail.com

4.0 out of 5 stars Double Pleasure, November 23, 2011
Double Jeopardy consists of two novels written by Ms. Coulter back on the 1990's- The Target and The Edge. Both stories were outstanding reads and are part of the FBI series with Savich and Sherlock jumping in to help their fellow agents.
The Target is the story of a six year old girl, beaten, abused and found unconscious by federal court judge, Ramsey Hunt, while vacationing in a cabin in the Rocky Mountains. Ramsey takes the girl in and slowly mends her physical wounds, while trying to deal with her emotional ones. Emma doesn't speak at all for a while but Ramsey continues to care for her and delve into the reason why anyone would want to harm this little girl. This is the beginning of a long journey for not only Ramsey and Emma, but also Emma's mom, Molly. The story does have you on the edge of your seat wondering who is behind this hunt to run down an innocent child.
Just when I thought the second novel couldn't possibly be as good as the first, The Edge turned out to be just as good if not better than The Target. The basis of the story revolves around a new drug that is supposed to help with blocking bad memories; however, it seems to have very strange side effects, one of them being an intense sexual drive. Ford MacDougal (aka Mac), FBI agent, and long time friend of Sherlock from her academy days, comes to the Oregon town of Edgerton to investigate his sister, Jilly, after having a very strange dream about her deliberately driving her new Porsche over a cliff. The dream becomes a reality as Mac and his crew find themselves involved in the middle of a dangerous and far-reaching drug ring that increasingly points to the work started by Jilly and her husband, Paul. I couldn't put this book down when I got to this story. The climax and conclusion will have the reader literally on "The Edge" of their seats.
Don't miss out on these two amazing stories, but go into them knowing that both The Target and The Edge are two early works of Catherine Coulter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not very realistic, September 29, 2011
By
For an FBI agent to be attached to a victim so close that she is actually helping in the investigation interviews as well as involved in the high speed chases and shootings is not very realistic at all. The plot was great. I did think at first that the psychics would be off the wall, but that actually was an exciting and moving part of the book. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it for reading unless you like a lot of high speed unrealistic drama

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't judge this book by its cover, July 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The title on this book is not what's inside. Instead it contains a compilation of two of her other books of different names. Purchased this as a gift only to find out that the enclosed books were already read by my wife. She is a good author but the marketing is deceptive.
