I love these pliers! I have had pliers before that had plastic inserts instead of nylon and I absolutely hated them. They were very heavy and large so they barely fit my hand and since they were heavy it was really hard for me to control them. When I was at a bead show once someone was selling these and I just had to have them. They are small which gives you maximum control and they fit perfectly in the palm of your hand. Also you can go to [...] and buy replacement nylon tips when those wear out. It took me several years before I had to replace my nylon tips. These are fabulous pliers. I wouldn't buy any other for straightening out my wire.

I highly recommend these pliers--they work wonders when straightening out fine wire. I also use to join jump rings--it won't scratch the metal. Very happy with the quality of the product. :O)

I ordered this product so I could straighten wire when making jewelry. It works great! The first one I received was slightly defective though. One of the screws kinda made it's way onto the nylon part. Hence making a slight dent in the wire when trying to straighten it. But I contacted the company and they immediately replaced it.

I was always having to straighten out head pins and I could never get them as straight as I wanted. I finally found these nylon pliers on AMAZON and I love them!! It now only takes me a fraction of the time I used to take straightening out the head pins.
I definately recommend buying these nylon pliers! It is so worth it!
I am no longer as skeptical! :)

Someone recommended these to me as a miniature model hobbyist. I used it one time to bend a wire smaller the size of a paperclip and it gouged the nylon. This is best used for soft jewelry wire and nothing more.

I got these hoping to bend solid copper electrical wire without marring it, but unfortunately even the thinnest 16 or 18 gauge copper wire used in walls is enough to leave permanent divots in the nylon blades of this pliers. It's still sometimes useful for holding a wire still without marring the insulation, but it's too slippery for that on most insulation types. Actually, if I could squeeze a big divot in the blades, it might actually hold insulated wires reasonably well in the divot.

I'm not going to knock down the rating since the description doesn't claim the pliers are for anything other than craft wire, but I will knock it a star because the blades don't quite line up when the pliers are closed which I imagine would be annoying when working with craft wire. Other than that, they look and feel fairly high quality.

Doesn't mar wire very easily, however, the surface is quite slippery so you have to get quite the grip on the wire (which is when it can mar wire) for making spirals/etc.

Still a great tool to have especially for colored wire when you need that color to stay on!

They are exactly as shown and described. I not only use them for bending wire - I do a lot of wire work - I use them to straighten and work-harden the wire. The handles are comfortable and I can use them for extended periods of time without my hand getting tired. I would recommend this product to anyone.
