Excellent BPA-free travel tumbler,

This review is from: 3 Pack of BPA Free 16oz To-Go Double Wall Plastic Tumblers with 6 Reusable Straws (Kitchen)
I bought 3 different BPA-free travel tumblers on Amazon last month. This one very good.
All three are all priced within a few dollars of each other, and available for Free Super Saver Shipping and Amazon Prime. I have used them only for ice water and iced tea (black and herbal), and they hold no residual flavors, even with strong teas like peppermint. I cannot vouch for how any of them would fair with smoothies, soda, or coffee drinks. I'd rank them in this order BEST: Aladdin Migo Aero 16-Ounce Insulated Water Tumbler with Straw, Purple Pros: Double wall reduces sweating, stays cold, tight-fit lid, looped top handle makes it easy to carry when my hands are full, lid is domed on the interior, which makes it easy to put on even if it's full and ice cubes are pushed up by the straw, looks very cool, fits in car cup holder, can be left at a 60 degree angle without spilling, eligible for Amazon's 4 for 3 promotion. Cons: Only 16 ounces are insufficient for a very hot day. VERY GOOD: 3 Pack of BPA Free 16oz To-Go Double Wall Plastic Tumblers with 6 Reusable Straws Pros: Double wall reduces sweating, stays cold, look very much like real drinking glasses, lids are very secure, fit in a car cup holder, six straws included for the three cups in the package, 3 cups with 3 different color straws, eligible for Amazon's 4 for 3 promotion, BPA-free. Cons: Lids are a little more difficult to put on because they are wider, the pink straw and the red straw look similar in dim light causing some bickering between my kids, only 16 ounces are insufficient for a very hot day, I had to go to the manufacturer's website to find out that they are BPA-free. FALLS SHORT: Copco Sierra 24-Ounce Cold Tumbler, Hot Pink Pros: 24 ounce capacity saves me trips back to the kitchen for refills, silicone band around the middle provides no slip grip, easier to see the color in dim light. Cons: NOT double-walled so it sweats profusely and feels a lot less sturdy than the other 2, lid is a little more difficult to put on because they are wider, not eligible for the Amazon 4 for 3 promotion.

I like these cups. I really do. They seem reasonably sturdy, handle a run through the dishwasher with gracefulness and poise, and the straws are a clever design. I like how the tops screw on so that my beverage doesn't slosh out from the sides of the lid. I like the double-walled design, because they really don't sweat.
However. I bought these cups to drink cold beverages on the go. For me, and for many others, "on the go" translates into "in my car". Unfortunately, the cups do not fit in a standard car cup holder. Listen, if I wanted a gigantic, oddly-shaped cup that didn't work well in my car, I would have gotten something a lot more flashy and impressive. Maybe one of those German beer boots or a big ol' leather wineskin. If you're going to be impractical, at least OWN it, you know?

I bought one of these tumblers individually at a store in-person. I had started making breakfast smoothies and was looking for an on-the-go solution. This tumbler really fits the bill.
The double wall prevents practically all sweating. The tumbler will get cold, of course, but I'm happy to report my hands don't get wet. The double wall design also does make this tumbler a little wide to hold for my hands, but I am a smaller woman, and it's not so bothersome that I've stopped using it. I can imagine that this is the kind of plastic that would break easily if dropped a great distance, but I'm not prone to dropping things. The 16oz size is perfect for the amount of smoothie that I make for myself and therefore it works great for me. I can imagine if you were using this as a water bottle you'd want 20+ ounces-- I use a 24oz water bottle myself. The lid screws on and seals surprisingly well. I've actually thrown this tumbler in my backpack for bike commutes and somehow nothing spilled-- but do keep in mind that I've not done that with water-- and the tumbler did remain relatively upright as far as I can tell. The straw is wider than your average disposable straw, which I like because I'm drinking relatively thick smoothies. If you are using these for smoothies, be sure to immediately wash out the straw after you're done to prevent gunk from drying up in there. To be safe I usually just rinse out the entire tumbler. I've washed this tumbler several times in the dishwasher (top rack for the lid and cup parts, utensil holder for the straw), and nothing has melted or been damaged in any way. I would definitely recommend this tumbler to a fellow homemade smoothie-maker!
