5.0 out of 5 stars Great two for the price of one!
This has been a great deal. Two games for the price of one! Both for under $10! Jewel Quest II & III have been two of my favorite games to play for quite a while now. I'm able to play whenever I want without any "interruptions/commercials". It's been the best $10 I've paid in a long time!

I'm a big fan of strategy games and enjoy thinking out the different moves and possibilities to find the best way to win the game. Unfortunately, these games give you a specific amount of time to finish each game, so you really don't have any time to think about different strategies. As such, you just end up quickly clicking on jewels and hoping for the best. It makes for a very dull time.

Graphics are good; story is interesting, but I wished they offered a timed and untimed version. With the untimed version you'd have as much time as you want to solve the puzzle (add some type of obstacles to the board, like bomb tiles to make it challenging).

I have been playing this game almost daily since I bought it. I can't believe I can get so much enjoyment from something that only costs me a few dollars.

There are two games included in this package:

Jewel Quest 2:

- timed challenges (no easy mode).
- for every 3 coins you make in a row, you get a coin, up to 100 coins. You can use the coins to turn yellow unturned spaces. This makes the game challenging, but also offers some solutions, case you get stuck.
- game can be played full screen, but resolution is small.
- works fine under Windows 7.
- 5 star game in this package.

Jewel Quest 3:

- timed challenges (no easy mode).
- you can no longer make coins that carry between levels.
- levels are more varied. For example, on the China levels, you need to drop monkeys in specific spaces that are 'cages'. In other levels, you need to bring down 'lava rocks' to melt some spaces.
- if you lose, it's not game over, but you get to replay the same level as many times as you'd like.
- this game is much more difficult than JQ2, because sometimes there is no strategy at all and just need the AI to work perfectly. No levels are impossible, but question is why would you bother play same level 50+ times, just because designers were lazy to provide you the tools to win. Publishers like Big Fish Games and Playrix make these type of games too and they are a lot more enjoyable.
- game works fine under Windows 7.
- 1 star game in the package. It's enjoyable in the beginning and extremely frustrating later on.

For people complaining they cannot find the game:

- make sure your Firewall allows the Amazon software downloader to run.
- start the software before downloading the game. You can find it in Start - Amazon.
- once you buy the game, you may get a pop-up or a note at bottom or top of the Internet Explorer screen, asking for your approval to download this. If you miss this, nothing will be downloaded.
- once the game installs, you should have a shortcut on your desktop.
- if game didn't install, you can download it again from Amazon. Go to your Account and look for downloadable games.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to beat but fun to play. A little addictive!, November 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Double Play: Jewel Quest 2 and 3 [Download] (Software Download)
Took me about two weeks of playing a few hours a day (I mentioned the addictive part, right?) to beat Jewel Quest II... I got to the end of the quest with 18 lives left and 84 special moves left so it's not difficult. But I liked the story and it was a little like reading a really good novel (except for the fact that no one would call it a really good novel :)... one more chapter... just one more chapter... and then suddenly you're bleary eyed at work the next day!

Jewel Quest III is harder because there's no score and no lives and no saving up your special moves... you just have to keep playing until you beat it (can you tell I'm currently stuck?) The story is also more disjointed because you aren't forced along their itinerary so there are introductions to action but no outcomes.

At any rate it is definitely good value for the money.

I had Jewel Quest III and enjoyed playing it but the game malfunctioned when I was four jewels from completion and I could no longer earn jewels. This game left me frustrated that I couldn't complete it and I hope they have ironed out the bugs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Half of Jewel Quest II and III, August 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Double Play: Jewel Quest 2 and 3 [Download] (Software Download)
I've purchased jewel quest II & III three times and still cannot play jewel quest II. I lose my cursor every time I try and can get no help from Amazon. I'm just plain disgusted with the effort. I wanted to play II, especially after playing it on another person's computer and tried paying for it a second time. My money is gone but I don't have a working game of jewel quest. This deal bites!

I thoroughly enjoyed playing Jewel Quest 2/3 UNTIL I could not save my game. I tried reinstalling, checking system compatibility, etc but nothing changed. Very frustrating to play a game and then not have your progress or score saved. I'm through with downloading games from Amazon because I have absolutely no recourse.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you like viruses!, February 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The game itself is fun to play, and is a little challenging to complete each level in the time alotted, but, it comes attached with a virus. I ran my virus scan, using AVG, and everytime it would show the game as a virus. I ended up just removing the game from the computer completely because of the virus.
Other then that, it is a fun game to play.
