4.0 out of 5 stars What a tangled web they weave..
The first time I saw this movie, I have to admit, I was about to fall asleep. That normally doesn't happen, so I didn't think this movie was my type. However, I rented it again to give it another shot because there were some funny parts. But- Double Take is a thinking person's movie. 3.0 out of 5 stars decent yet spinny
Don't get me wrong, this movie isn't bad it just isn't that good either. It keeps you guessing but in the end when you find out who's side who is on, it doesn't make sense. If you think back to different scenes in the movie, I know they want to keep you guessing, but some of the incounters don't seem to fit when you see who is playing on what team in the end. Funny and...

However, I rented it again to give it another shot because there were some funny parts. But- Double Take is a thinking person's movie. If you don't have time to think about it and figure it out, theres only a few funny parts. But, if you enjoy movies that make you think and laugh, then try it. It also has a good cast including Orlando Jones, Eddie Griffin and one of my favorite actors- Daniel Roebuck.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its Not As Bad As They Say, July 20, 2002

This movie about a wall street hot-shot named Daryl Chase, and a loud mouth "ghetto recipient" Freddy Tiffany has one of THE STUPIDEST plots you'll ever see. But this movie is just flat out hilarious! Eddie Griffin gives a great performance in this movie, and you'll be laughing till' the very end. Some of the lines are just so funny. Like when Freddy is in Chase' s office and he pretends to be on the phone he says stuff like " a broker is a smoker " and " is that Chloe kitt man I sure like to wax her draws" and as hes being taken out by security he says " hows yo mama we went out " Its a confusing movie but Eddie Griffin saves it. So dont listen to the critics, See this movie you'll like it its very funny!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Storyline Keeps You Guessing, January 21, 2001
By

I have only good words about this film. I loved the two actors pretrayal of one another. I am usually good at guessing and finding a plot for movies. This movie for the most part had me fooled. Not since Fallen have I been dumbfounded to find and understand the ending to a movie.

This movie was also hillarious with several comedic scenes. The storyline or plot of the film had endless conclussions. A well educated Harvard graduate Chase (Jones) who is employed by a bank in New York. Chase also has a supermodel girlfriend. Encounters a would be criminal and scam artist Tiffany (Griffin).

Perhaps one of Eddie Griffins best films. Eddie Griffin is a fantastic and powerful force in this film. He brings veteran and always also new comedic creations to all of his films. This one is no exception. Orlando Jones has been one of many comedic performers I have enjoyed over the years. He brings a new and unique energy to the film.

Surprisingly this movie had a lot of action scenes for two comedic performers. I enjoyed all of the different scenes with most of the actors.

Even though I am not a tough critic on movies. I watch movies for entertainment purposes first. Then I look for meaning and purpose. If most people would view movies this way, then they would find a lot more films to be entertaining.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop being so serious...it's a comedy!, May 20, 2008

Funny...funny...funny. Guaranteed to stop a spousal spat, or cheer you up when you're down. Nice twists and turns. I'm an avid movie watcher and I didn't see every plot twist ahead of time. It's nice seeing people of color in big budget motion pictures with great promotions teams behind them. The pomeranian is priceless! Stop being so critical and kick back, relax, and enjoy. It's even funnier after a couple of daiquiris :) Buy it! Don't bootleg it!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Movie, August 23, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Double Take (DVD)
This turned out to be a better movie than I expected. I thought it was going to be a stereotypical comedy, but there turned out to be a good story with tricks and twists to the plot. It's more complicated than the normal comedies, but what keeps it from a "5" rating is the acting. It's not perfect, but what can you expect? They are comedians. Not as funny as I would have liked it to be either, but had an unexpectedly good story.

Has anything ever happened to you and you found out it was all a scam? Well this man does! Want a great movie filled with many laughs for the whole family, then this is a great catch! When Darryl Chase(Orlando Jones) is forced to leave the state, he mysteriously keeps bumping into Freddie Tiffany(Eddie Griffin) As he helps him get out, they bump into many problems along the way. Pay very close attention to this movie and nothing can get by you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Movie with confusing twists, May 30, 2003

This move was amazing. Eddie Griffin(Freddie) made this movie amazing by his fast-talking and smart mouth. Orlando Jones(Daryl Chase) is the perfect man for the character for which he was portrayed. Combined, the two make a great cast of actors, and made this movie so likeable. However, even at the end of the movie I was left with a few questions about the plot. I could watch this moie over-and-over again non-stop!
