Product Description

DoubleTape was conceived and created by a professional tradesman who realized how much easier his work would be if a tape measure could be read from the underside. DoubleTape measuring tape will make any measuring job easier. The measurements are printed on both the upper and lower surface of the blades. Unlike normal tapes which buckle when turned over, DoubleTape blade remains rigid for overhead use. This saves time, effort, and frustration. With DoubleTape, take advantage of the excellent standout length; extend the tape overhead with one hand. Take the measurement from the underside of the tape and use your free hand for marking. You won't need to wrestle like you would with ordinary tapes, and you won't need a helper to hold the tape. Markings are in Feet and Inches with additional highlighting at each 16 inch length for marking standard studs. Additional markings are also at each 485mm interval for use with side studs.

Got it for the husband as a Christmas gift and he loves it!

The markings are both sides of the tape are a cool feature, but more than that it's just a solid, sturdy, well made tape measurer.

I just picked this up the other day and have found it to far exceed my expectations.

I've been installing laminate flooring in my basement and this tape measurer has gotten a lot of use. The markings are both sides of the tape are a cool feature, but more than that it's just a solid, sturdy, well made tape measurer. I have a few other tape measurers, but this is the one I always use. The tape is thick so it doesn't bend or fold easily when measuring long distances, it retracts like a mother, and the quick lock works well. If you're measuring things above your head, it's especially helpful, but even if you need to solid tape measurer that will last, pick one up.

I received this as a gift and loves it. It's got a nice heavy-duty feel with the solid grip. I was using it for furniture placement planning and found my old measuring tape limiting for large furnitures.

This tape extends to a nice long 25 feet, the curve on the tape prevents it from bending backwards, and there's measurement on both sides so you can easily read it when measuring something overhead (ie. the ceiling). This measuring tape is great value and a very useful tool for any home.

I've had this tape measure for a few years and it's been more then handy. The numbers on the underside prove useful in all sorts of circumstances and it's hard to remember using a tape without them. It has held up well to abuse and is still as solid as it was on day 1.

I just received these. I bought 4 for gifts and personal use. But now I am disappointed. The product pictures show that the fractions are printed on the tape measure. But none of the 4 tape measures that I received by ordering from this merchant actually have the fractions printed on them (on either side of the tape). The fractions are very helpful, especially for people who come from countries where the metric system is used. I wouldn't have bought these if I had known that there are no fractions printed on them. However, they do a very good job of overhead measurement. I sat on my sofa and was able to touch the 8' ceiling with the end of the tape without standing.

I have used a lot of tools in my time so its always great to see small changes that are actually big improvements to everyday tools. Last month when I was installing lights in my celling the numbers on the bottom made it easy to see and mark accurate measurements when standing on the ladder by myself.

This product is very well build and rugged, the rubberized case makes it extra nice.

I am tough on tape measures. Lately it seems like I go through at least one per year and am always looking for a new one so I thought I would give this one a try. So far I have been pretty well impressed because it is easy to read and accurate. I take on many diverse jobs, but where I really need accuracy is when I'm doing finish carpentry work. I recently cut a piece of luan to repair an antique door. I took the measurements at the job site and then went back to my workshop to cut the piece. I used the DoubleTape both times and the piece was spot on. The scale seems easily readable, even for a middle-aged guy who needs to use reading glasses now and then. (Maybe it could just be me, but whenever I use my Stanley tape for precise work things never quite fit right.) I wish the quality of construction were a little better. The belt hook fell off the second time I used it. I had to replace the cheap little screw holding it on with something more substantial, and haven't had any more problems since. I think the tape measure may only last about the same as any other, but Amazon had such an amazing price on it that I decided to order 2 more and keep them in reserve.

***After using this tape for a few months I have noticed that the hook does not grab very well when measuring longer distances. It tends to slip off whatever it is holding on to if you don't keep a lot of pressure on it--and even then it still slips off sometimes. This can be frustrating when measuring the length from the stud of an open wall, for example. I also noticed that the width of the tape measure is 3 1/8", not an even three inches like I had originally thought.

Good tape measure. Protective blade coating a little weak. Return spring could be stronger but it was not problematic. Great value for the money. I would buy this over a Stanley any day.

Last year I gave one to my dad who does all sorts of household and light carpentry projects and it was a hit. He and my mother just put in new den lighting and he felt that working overhead was much easier with DoubleTape. It's super handy to have the measurements on both sides of the tape.
