4.0 out of 5 stars Thin Ice......, June 24, 2008
Last Christmas the Funny Family had a new addition, Pork Chop, the dog.
Doug has grown attached to him,and the Town of Bluffington has too. An incident prior to Christmas has Pork Chop in a large mess. At the skating rink he went after the mayor's daughter.
Throughout the episode Doug daydreams the worst possible outcomes. Proving his dog's innocence is uneasy, and almost seemingly futile.
A court hearing leads everyone back to the place of trouble. This helps show the reasons behind Pork Chop's behavior.
This is most likely the deepest episode in the cartoon's history. It paints a picture of a realistic family dog, where previous, and latter releases give the pouch a human like nature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliance is beautiful !!, January 31, 2001
By
Taeko Takahashi (Nagoya-city, Aichi pref. Japan) - See all my reviews
The relationship between Doug and his dog, Porchop is wonderful. This story tell us that reliance is very important. I watched this story with my 4-year-old son at home and he told me "Mom, what is that? My chest seems to have something warm!!" We're Japanese and he speaks only Japanese, but he seemed to feel something without understanding English words. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful feeling!! We'd like to watch more DOUG's movies!! (We're very sorry we can't get DOUG's movies in Japan.)
