About Tom Douglas

Tom Douglas is an American chef, restaurateur, and writer. He is well known for helping to define Northwest cuisine and igniting the Seattle restaurant scene, winning the James Beard Award for Best Northwest Chef in 1994. Since 1989, Tom has opened five of Seattle’s most popular restaurants: Dahlia Lounge; the Greek-inspired Lola; Serious Pie pizzeria; Palace Kitchen; and Pike Place Market’s iconic seafood restaurant, Etta’s. He also owns Dahlia Bakery, famous for its Triple Coconut Cream Pie.

These glasses are practical and durable - yet not so clunky for your "delicate" bubbly drinking. The globe is a little bigger than other champagne glasses I've ordered, perhaps because they are actually specified as Prosecco vs. Champagne glasses. It's also a little confusing re: WHO actually makes the glasses. "Tom Douglas BY Pinzon" and "Nachtmann BY Riedel?" Whose glasses are these anyway? If you care that they have the Riedel name on them, don't order these because they don't. If you care about having nice glasses for your guests to enjoy when you're entertaining...and you want to be able to toss them in the dishwasher, order these.

And just who doesn't know RIEDEL? Classicly sleek German design crystal for your first or latest sip of the best vintages whether produced in France, New Zealand or the US? Worth every penny and then some, these durable, crystal clear of course, wine and champagne glasses will be loved by young and old alike and will pass gracefully from generation to generation. Who wouldn't love to own the "porche" of fine drinkware?
