From the Author
We wrote this book to educate doulas and the public on doulas and the work they do. We believe that every woman should have a choice in the type of care she receives during one of the most important days of her life. We also believe that her partner should be confident and comfortable offering her support. We thought that doulas could benefit from our experiences and our unique point of view in dealing with both intervention-free and intervention-filled births. This book prepares parents and caregivers for the role they will play during this momentus occasion.
