A piece of paper is placed in the pan and lit. A burst of flame ignites so bright that it must be covered with the lid. When the pan is opened a live dove is in the paper's place. The effect can be instantly repeated to produce rubber chicken.

The Dove Pan is a classic in Magic. The magician shows an empty pan in which he begins to put various ingredients.... Tossing in a match, flames shoot up from the pan and the magician slams the lid down on it extinguishing the fire! Upon removing the lid, just about any animal or item can be produced. This pan is big enough to produce a SMALL rabbit, hampster, dove, sponge birthday cake (available from magic dealers), candy, etc... The system comes with 2 loads so a second load of approximately the same size can be produced after emptying the pan the first time.
I give it 4 stars only because I have seen pans that nest tighter, but they're almost twice the price. The minor flaws in this pan can easily be overcome in patter and showmanship, and this should not be a deterrent to buying these pans.
