Okay, I have been stamping, coloring, painting, chalking, you name it, I have been doing it for years. I own Close to My Heart, Stampin Up!, and Mauvy blender pens... and then I own this one. The Dove blender works better than any blender pen I have ever used. Simply put, it blends whatever you are doing and then "sets" it (so it won't smear, no need for a fixative). The tips are replaceable and you refill the barrel so this baby will last a forever. I couldn't even count how many tips I have been through and how many times I've refilled it. It flawlessly blends ink, color pencils, water color pencils, and chalk. It covers the whole image and blends it seamlessly. The other pens seem to kind of dry out and never really blend. Then the tip wears out and bam, that pen is dead. Not so with this one. Try it, you will really enjoy it. Just get the pen first (not this 12 pack!). See if you like it, then order the nibs and fluid. One full pen lasts a long time and as long as you run the pen on paper after each use (to clear the ink), the nib will last a long time too. I actually cut mine into a sharper tip to make it last longer when I didn't have a new one, and it lasted until the replacements came!

I love this pen. I had been wanting for months, finally ordered it and was not disappointed. My favorite part of the pen is the ease in which you can change colors. All you do is finish with the first color, then "color" on a piece of scratch paper until it runs clear, then you just pick up the next color. I can't say enough about it. It was my solution to spending hundreds on cropics and similar markers. The only thing I would suggest would be to buy the extra tips because if you push too hard they get worn out and don't have the point anymore.

Great blending markers for watercolor pencils. They work great & have lasted a long while. The tips do not maintain sharpness, but dulls a bit is the only downside.

I purchased these pens because I had heard a lot of chatter about how they were refillable and the nibs are replaceable. I got them for a screaming deal on Amazon so I cannot fault them for the price - although if you purchase them through an Amazon reseller or anywhere else, you would be totally and absolutely ripped off. If you paid more than $15 for a dozen, then you definitely did not get your money's worth. The nibs on these do not last and replacement nibs are hard to come by and expensive (if you factor in shipping and how quickly these wear out). It's also difficult to find inexpensive refillable solution, although you can find a recipe that will suffice for dirt cheap and last forever since very little is needed.

For the user above who mentioned they did not dissolve in the medium mentioned, the solution in these pens is not made to resolve wax, therefore they don't work with colored pencils. They do work great with watercolor pencils and other water-soluble mediums (chalks, water based inks, etc.). Just go easy as the nibs fray very quickly.

I personally prefer the ZIG Blender with the Twin Tip Flexible Brushes. They are a much better quality product than the Dove pens. The nibs on the ZIGs are more flexible and they last longer without fraying, unlike the Doves. Unfortunately, I received the ZIG Blender pens from a friend who had used them and then put them in storage for years (attest to their longevity), so by the time I found out how great they were, they no longer make them.

I was searching for aqua pens, that I saw years ago, which could be refilled with water. They are to be used with watercolor pencils and crayons. I stumbled across these and they are great!! The tips clean up well and are not overly wet or dry!! With 12 in a pack it is an awesome deal. I won't need to buy the refill solution for quite some time, but it is good to know that it is reasonably priced too.

I purchased the pack of 12 of these pens and have no idea what to do with the other ten now! I use blender pens all the time to transfer ink jet images to fabric. Never ran into a problem until I purchased these. I don't know what chemical they use, but they do not "blend" anything I've tried them on. Colored pencil + blender pen = wet colored pencil lines. No blending. Ink + blender pen = wet ink lines. No blending, no dilution of the ink. Pretty much feels like you're using water, and is not effective as a solvent for any art supply I've found so far. I've tried two of the pens, thinking I may have gotten a bum one on the first go, but both were equally unhelpful.

Also, in two uses the nibs were bent sideways and the fabric of the points had begun to fray and separate. Really terrible quality.
