I had looked all over for some simple pre-k books to use in my home daycare. I wasn't sure about these until after I had received them. When I opened these books up I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was exactly what I was looking for. These coloring books are great to use when teaching the ABC's to 2 & 3 year olds.

I bought this in addition to a bunch of other toys for my 2-year-old nephew's birthday (he loves the ABCs) and he couldn't stop flipping pages and naming letters and animals. The book has a letter on each page as well as animals/items that begin with that letter. The pictures are large and seem like they'd be easy to color. Each page is educational, but not cluttered with too many pictures like some other coloring books.

If you've got a 4 yr old granddaughter that's learning her letters, why not give her a coloring book that combines fun and learning in one gift. This was good enough that I got 2...one for her and one for my home for the 2 4 year olds in my life...my granddaughter and my great niece!

I've had so much trouble in brick-and-mortar stores finding coloring books for my toddlers. Most of those available seem to be filled with word searches, puzzles, mazes, etc. that are better suited to older children. The Dover series that I found here on Amazon are perfect for my little ones! Real coloring books, without all the extras.

This book, in particular, contains pictures of animals in various silly situations. Each picture includes a one-sentence caption in which a particular letter sound is prominently featured. Of course, these are organized alphabetically, so the artistic alligator painting an apple is first and the zesty zebra balancing zucchini is last. My daughter is just beginning to recognize her letters, and I think this is a great opportunity to do something she loves (coloring) and work in a little light-hearted education at the same time.

The inside of the book looks like a copy of a copied book. The lines are not dark at all and I am unhappy with this purchase all around. Thankfully the letters are both in upper and lower case and it is a little cute but I am not impressed with the coloring book. This is a full size coloring book thankfully as the other two I purchased were not.

I would like to state be careful if you decide to purchase "Frequently Bought Together". As this is a full size coloring book the other two are not. The other two books I am writing about are "The Little Animal ABC coloring book and The Little ABC coloring book." The little means they are the size of a checkbook, literally! So keep in mind to really watch it on amazon as not all coloring books are the size I believe should be- which is the size of a notebook!

Exactly what I was looking for to give my 3-year-old some alphabet coloring sheets. Big, easy to identify letters and pictures.
