this toy gives you the idea behind a levitated train, but it is hard to get it to work. hard to keep the train from hitting the sides, good starting point needs further development

We liked everything about this except for the train project. The magnets need to be aligned perfectly and the plastic guides are too short. The guides should keep the train from moving sideways or rolling over. But the magnetic force is so strong that the train rides high next to the guides, such that the plastic only touches the bottom part. We had to modify the set with add-on pieces to make the thing work...and it only worked sub-par.

I thinki this is a good idea with alot to learn from it but very poor design. Not completely accurate peices and hard to get it all to work when the peices are not all the same. Had to do alot of extra work that the directions did not give. (extra tape on the rails to keep straight) Hard to keep train from derailing otherwise.

This product was everything we (my son and I) wanted and more; we were both able to assemble the levitating train for my sons Science Fair AND demonstrate the principals of magnetism with the other pieces.

The kit works well as expected. the instruction is clear to follow. We glued the tracks on a laminate floor piece, and added a long strip of tape inside each plastic guard to smooth out the section connections. The magnets are very strong. My son glued a lego base on the train wood block, and built a lego structure on top of it. It turns out quite nice. the construction skill requirement is a little high for a 8 years old. So, a lot of parent help.

I hated this product you could build a better levitating train at home the train project in this kit did not work at all at first just got stuck to other magnet but when it did work it did not move easily overall i hated this product and would not recommend buying it.

Components in the kit are worth about 3 dollars at best. The guide rails came bent and the magnets are weak. You can easily build a better kit at home. The train project doesn't work well at all.

Te ideas are cool. But, it's very hard to make it work perfectly. There are not all accessories. For example, how to stop at both ends? why not put the line on the woods for the tracks? Where is the glue and so on? I don't think normal kid can build it by him/her own.
