More Than Just a Sweet Name,

Here's an instrumental band to watch out for. This Athens, GA group takes a 70s approach to post-punk, using analog keyboards straight out of the Jean Michael Jarre bag of tricks to sculpt soundscapes similar to Gastr del Sol, Tortoise or Cul de Sac. The best track by far is the 11-minute tour-de-force "A.W. Sonic," which finally matches the band's live intensity. There's violin, lap steel guitar, and some dandy rhythms thrown into the mix that give the disc some needed accessibility and balance.

Japancrap,

This album is garbage. I love Japancakes...Dallas, Sleepy Strange, Belmondo, even the Waking Hours. But this album is pure torpor. Yes, A.W. Sonic has it's moments...but nothing on this album shows the band at it's soporific, hypnotic best. Go for any of the aforementioned albums. (But Belmondo is bliss.)
