killer nu-school dub!,
By John Meadows (Venice Beach, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Down Memory Gap Lane (Audio CD)
This is a killer new-school dub record. And on top of that, it includes one of my favorite voices in the scene - Pa Pa Dee. David Barratt's (creator of the project) grooves and vibe for the disc are perfect for the dub mood you want; add to that Pa Pa's vocal stylings and lyrical flair and you have something worth going back to again and again. I've never stopped listening to my Brooklyn Funk Essentials discs and I will have no problem pulling this one out for all sorts of occasions this summer and the ones to follow.

A Gem from the bargain bin,
By Frogspasm (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Down Memory Gap Lane (Audio CD)
I bought this cd just because it had the word dub in the name. It was a punt which was well worthwhile. This cd is great. It is inspired by Lee Scratch Perry sort of stuff. It is finely crafted dub reggae with that relaxed dreamy feel. It also reminds me of Onu sound stuff. There is not a dull track on this cd, every track is a winner. It is definately a cd to have in your collection.
