The authors do a great job of providing insight into the emotional roller-coaster of downsizing while suggesting specific actions that can be taken. The tools and web links that they provide are especially helpful while one is responding to a life altering event. It also leaves readers with a sense that something good can come out of being downsized.

When we relocated for my husband's job I faced a complete career change in our new town where I knew no one. I was dreading the job search, especially networking. This book got me started on the right foot and kept me motivated.

While reading a book may not be the first thing you think to do when finding yourself unemployed, this is one you SHOULD read as soon as you start packing up your office. Not only does it provide insight and reassurance, but also provides resources to help you determine the next step in your career.

Being unemployed has been one of my loneliest hours. I felt I had found a friend, and many times my own voice, in this resource. The feelings shared, the actions defined changed my perspective and got me moving. Thank you for your insight and perspective.
