Funny Guy - Saw Him in Florida Years Ago,
This review is from: Downtime Enthusiast [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
This guy is really funny. I saw him at a comedy club in Florida years ago. Then I happened to catch him on Letterman. Doesn't go for the cheap or dirty humor. Put this on your iPod. You'll like it.

Very rarely a comedy bit comes along that you care to hear more than once. A few by Steve Martin or Bill Cosby come to mind, but this album is full of them from start to finish. Ryan chooses all of those situations and annoyances that we all experience, which makes his appeal universal. But more than that he chooses situations that we always experience, which makes his humor durable. Beyond that he finds situations right in front of our noses that we didn't see ourselves--like what's up with that blue cylinder box of salt, and what about baking soda? And, yes, he moves us past that the other way, too, into truly annoying situations that aren't quite so quotidien--like when a live cigarette butt blows down your collar on the freeway, setting your clothes and your car on fire--and makes them just as hilarious. This man is a national treasure; this album is a classic. And you can tell that I know what I'm talking about, as I have just used a semicolon in this review. Buy one for yourself and one for everybody on your gift list. Otherwise they'll just keep borrowing yours. |
