One of my favorites! This is the only Peter Blegvad album I know, but from what I've read of reviews of his other work, I would put this mid-way on the continuum between stripped-down acoustic and heavily produced experimental. In other words:perfect. Beautiful, moving songs, and often funny, too. The production and arrangements are scruffy and imaginative -- each song has it's own sound, and many sound like nothing else. Most are acoustic guitar-based, often with chorused or reverby electric guitar layered on. The drumming is of special note -- unpredictable, sometimes crazed, full of personality. Anyone who likes great lyrics and quirky production will probably love this. I like it in the same way I like atmospheric bossa nova guy Arto Lindsay, but Blegvad is funnier and warmer.
