A mix of hypnotic and danceable tracks with excellent musicianship throughout.

Downtown Rockers, the title track, is in my opinion..easily the best track on the whole album.

The album also returns the band to a land of patch cords and smoke filled rooms.

This album is not on par with their highly coveted debut album, although it is quite the pleasure to listen to!! It is, however, true to the Tom Tom Club style. Downtown Rockers, the title track, is in my opinion..easily the best track on the whole album. It harkens back to the good old days of CBGB's which is where mostly all of the influential bands got their start. And not a moment too soon, as the movie about CBGB's will be released soon. So it is right in time with that. The songs all capture that vibe and yearn for the listener to recall those times right along with The Tom Tom club, as they were there back in those days as The Talking Heads. Love tape mentions a girl who had made a cassette tape (what's that?) of songs near and dear to her heart for her boyfriend and hoping that he will love and appreciate them as much as she does. She proceeds to make him a CD, too..but alas, the jerk just pays no attention. It is a quirky and fun song that makes you feel bad for the girl, as she was trying to be thoughtful and slightly romantic, but her deeds are for naught. :-( This album is worth it if just for those two songs alone, but the others are pleasant as well.

Fresh and funky new sounds from Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and the whole TTC crew. A mix of hypnotic and danceable tracks with excellent musicianship throughout. Highly recommended.

This is a nice musical based CD that concentrates on all the CBGB's bands, and their time and influtence at the time

I've been a Tom Tom Club fan ever since I saw them in a small local club. The title track Downtown Rockers is sort of an homage to the New Wave/Punk Rock scene of the 1980's.
