My favorite song on this cd is Sunday Morning Drive... Their sound is comparable to the Beatle's pop music from the 60's mixed with a little of the more recent band, The Strokes. I had the opportunity to see Blue Cartoon Live and they put on an excellent show. This band is sexy, stylish, and undeniably cool.

WOW!! If you liked the graceful groove of the first Blue Cartoon release, you'll really dig Downtown Shangri-La. It almost should be called "Blue Cartoon Plugged In".The same fabulously imaginative material, now wrapped in a sticky electronic 70's pop glow. The title cut out rocks anything on the first CD and the majority of songs are thick with post-production tricks and twists, as well as those signature Blue Cartoon harmonies. Good stuff indeed.

What a disapointment. Bad production, lame lyrics, hippy-twinged guitar. This is an opening band you skip to have a drink in the bar.
