This is one of those products that is a very nice surprise when you use it. The clothes just smell wonderful (really scents the air outside too while they're drying!) and it helps with color retention. I've used this Downy for about 4 years now, along with a couple other scents and it doesn't clog my dispenser cup in my washer as much as other products do. Had a terrible time with Snuggle doing that so I longer use that product. Wish this would help more with static in the winter but if you use it with a dryer cloth, that helps a ton. Highly recommend!

I use this with my sheets along withthe dryer sheets. The bed sheets are soooo great smelling! Glad they have this in bulk on Amazon! Good product, if you like scents>

My mother suggested I try this and I haven't looked back since. I bought some in the grocery and loved it. As I always do, I immediately looked on Amazon to see if I could find a better deal. They didn't let me down! This stuff just smells heavenly! Washing clothes gives the entire house a cozy, subtle scent that smells so clean and relaxing. Of course Downy is a great product and makes the clothes buttery soft - they outdid themselves on this one! Buy it, it's the best out there!

This product makes your clothes smell and feel so fresh and clean. I love the smell of Vanilla and Lavender. Mix a little fabric softener with the liquid detergent and whyloa. You have freshness.

Ultra Downy Fabric Softener with its "Vanilla and Lavender" scent does an excellent job of softening my clothing and towels in my washing machine. I have also used it with great satisfaction for many years both at laundromats and in my father's clothes washing machine. It comes in a solid, heavy duty plastic container that won't break and the handle fits around your hand to make it easy to carry, too.

But there's more. After you unscrew the cap, you can turn the cap upside down to use it as a dispensing cup. I like my clothes extra soft so I use at least a full cup. People with itchy skin who want clothing and towels very soft would do well to use a full cup, too. It contains biodegradable fabric softener agents; and when you are washing items that have bright red or similar colors Downy will not cause those items to fade.

Unfortunately, one drawback exists: DON'T use Downy fabric softener if you are washing anything that is flame resistant. It will reduce the flame resistant quality of the garment. This holds true especially for children's sleepwear or garments that are labeled flame resistant. Fabrics containing fleece and terry cloth should not be washed with this product, either. Downy fabric softener makes these fleece and terry cloth items more likely to become flammable; and that's not desirable.

If you're sensitive to scents or perfumes try using Downy in an unscented form.

Overall, Downy Vanilla and Lavender scented fabric softener is just about the best brand when you want to soften your things in the washing machine. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants their wash to come out really nice and soft; Downy fabric softener may be even more helpful if you have "hard" water. It may have a drawback concerning some flame resistant garments; but these can always be washed separately.

I love Downy Ultra Liquid Fabric Softener! This products has a good fragrance and it absolutely comfortable towels, clothes, after it was used. I definitely recommend using it. And I appreciate amazon.com who were really kind me when I had a little problem. Thank you so much!!!

I bought a case, i am a bit crazy like that... But the smell doesn't seem to last very long after washing/drying. And I am using the matching dryer sheets.

If you have an HE machine like mine, this will not do the job for scent, and you might as well go buy something cheaper.

Better off buying it at your local grocery store when it's on sale..I like the downy but size to small for big price.

I absolutely love the smell of this fabric softener. While some pay be hesitant to use it for everything, I definitely recommend using it for things like bed sheets and towels. It makes doing laundry so much more pleasurable!

This product has a light fragrance that does not irritate my allergies. Many scents, whether added fragrances or just the smell of the product's ingredients reek havoc with my sinuses and skin. This one, fortunately, does not.

If I could, I would give it three and a half stars, because some clothes have static when I take them out of the dryer. Also, if it gets on dark fabric, it can stain.

I almost forgot, the laundry does come out of the dryer soft.
