5.0 out of 5 stars Stop ironing!
I absolutely hate ironing and was relieved when I discovered this product a few years ago. For light fabrics you spray on and walk out the door. It's wonderful! For heavier fabrics:
1. Spray and then toss item in dryer for a few minutes
2. Spray then run hand over wet areas to smooth out wrinkles or lay item flat out on a drying rack

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for "Emergencies", but leaves sticky residue on clothing.
When I saw the commercial for this product, I was excited to try it because I hate ironing. I sprayed a cotton dress that was moderately wrinkled. While the wrinkles did come out for the most part, the product left a non visible residue on my dress that made my hands sticky.....I wore the dress to work and had to continuously wash my hands!

I have heard of "make it yourself" wrinkle releaser, but I have not tried it. From what I understand this product is just watered-down, dye free fabric softener. Either way, it works great on my business casual and casual wear! Keep in mind, a little goes a long way, no need to drown your clothes with this. Oh, and it smells great!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Wrinkle remover since the iron...., October 31, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Downy Wrinkle Releaser 33.8 fl oz (1 L) (Kitchen)
Even when your clothes are pressed, once they are put into your closet against the other items, they seem to wrinkle. I never thought this product would work this well. I originally purchased this product in Big Lots...I had never heard of it before, but thought that I would give it a try.

I was amazed the firt time I tried it and watched the wrinkles disappear...You simply spray on your clothing and either smooth the area or pull down on the article. Let it dry naturally and watch the wrinkles disappear right before your eyes....Just amazing....It works equally well on shirts, blouses, pants, or anything else that you may use it on.

Once I had used it up, I found it almost impossible to find, so I thought it must have been discontinued. Recently, however, I saw it advertised on television, but again when I tried to find it in the stores, it was not there. I am purchasing 3 bottles of it today and will come back again for more. This it truly the best product I have ever tried that really lives up to it claims....

5.0 out of 5 stars Look SMOOTH, smell FRESH and put AWAY your IRON!, May 23, 2009
By
Downy Wrinkle Releaser is a simple but fabulous product.

While I can't say that I never have to iron anymore, it does a great job keeping tee-shirts, jeans and most casual wear wrinkle-free. Spray it on, smooth over the cloth with your hands and the wrinkles disappear! It's a quick, easy way to freshen up anything as you are about to wear it and has a great scent, too.

It also improves the appearance of lightly pilled garments by smoothing it out, so even older items get new life.

Definitely recommended! You will want a bottle for every family member so they can spritz themselves to freshness before work or school.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Cuffed Pants/Shorts and Ruffles--Amazing and Fun!, April 29, 2011
This review is from: Downy Wrinkle Releaser 33.8 fl oz (1 L) (Kitchen)
I use this product especially when I have cuffed shorts, or ruffled tops or skirts that washing does not treat kindly. I spray on, smooth the ruffles or cuffs in the right direction, and then apply a large dictionary type/reference book (does not have to be unabridged edition) across the entire surface overnight. In the morning, surprise!, all items look like they have been professionally ironed. It is the same as ironing, only quicker and more fun. I have an extensive clothes collection, which contains many vintage and intricate pieces, and I DO NOT own an iron. This product is my iron. I will say, however, that I have not done men's shirts or pants, but there are many other reviews that speak to that. I have been using it for 7 years and have not personally had any issues with bleeding or other fabric damage. A must have for your laundry arsenal.

4.0 out of 5 stars I hate to iron; this is my solution., April 27, 2011
This review is from: Downy Wrinkle Releaser 33.8 fl oz (1 L) (Kitchen)
I hate ironing, so when I first saw the commercial for the Downy Wrinkle Releaser, I was eager to try it. I still have the first bottle I bought. I usually use it on pants or skirts that are wrinkled because I didn't hang them immediately after washing and they'd end up wrinkled from sitting in a pile waiting to be hung in the closet. I don't think I've ever followed the bottle's instructions on tugging and smoothing after spraying. I'm not sure why, but I always "snap" the wrinkles out of the clothes by grabbing the pants or skirt by the waist and snapping each side after spraying. I guess I never read the instructions on the bottle. Maybe I saw it used on a show or something.

We once had an out of town guest stay over, and he had asked to borrow an iron. I had an iron, but no board. Then he asked if I had a steamer. The one I had was too bulky for his taste. Then I offered him the Downy Wrinkle Releaser. He was skeptical, but allowed me to demonstrate on his khakis. He was amazed. It didn't take out the wrinkles completely (maybe because I snapped them out instead of tugging and smoothing them out like the directions say to do), but it definitely minimized the appearance of the wrinkles and he was in awe. I think he said he was going to go out and get a bottle for himself.

Pros: It works well enough most of the time. Always minimizes the amount of wrinkles at least. Comes in travel size. No need for irons or ironing board.

Cons: Doesn't completely take out all wrinkles all the time (I haven't really followed the directions on the bottle though).

Will I use again: Probably

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC PRODUCT!, March 30, 2010
This review is from: Downy Wrinkle Releaser 33.8 fl oz (1 L) (Kitchen)
This product is so helpful. Many is the time that something comes out of the dryer with some unsightly wrinkles. Instead of having to rewash the item, I just spray it and smooth out the wrinkles with my hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, September 13, 2011
This review is from: Downy Wrinkle Releaser 33.8 fl oz (1 L) (Kitchen)
I love everything about Downy Wrinkle Releaser except how difficult it can be to find it in the 33.8 oz size in the stores! It is my very favorite Downy product. I hate to iron so I was very excited about Wrinkle Releaser. It works perfectly: I spritz the item and then smooth the fabric surface by hand. No more wrinkles! If an item is especially crumpled (things left overnight in the dryer, for instance) I just use a bit more. It has never spotted anything I have used it on. (I have used it on bedspreads and curtains too)

This product works. It is difficult to find in my local store. I hate to iron. Just spray it on your clothes and the wrinkles vanish. Wish they made something like this for the face. Ha Ha

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for "Emergencies", but leaves sticky residue on clothing., August 20, 2011
This review is from: Downy Wrinkle Releaser 33.8 fl oz (1 L) (Kitchen)

While the wrinkles did come out for the most part, the product left a non visible residue on my dress that made my hands sticky.....I wore the dress to work and had to continuously wash my hands!
If you can deal with having sticky hands all day, then this product is great, otherwise, steer clear.

In terms of actually getting wrinkles out, the product does not work nearly as well as an iron (you won't have crisp, totally wrinkle free clothing), but it is great for emergency situations.
