Born in the U.K. in 1949, Eric Dowsett emigrated to Australia when he was 21, and has lived and traveled throughout Australia and Southeast Asia for the past 30 years. Led by his innate understanding of the teachings of the Buddha, Eric spent years exploring the spiritual lives of the people of India, Sri Lanka and Thailand. His outward journeys to many different countries allowed him to live with the local peoples, and gain a greater understanding of and compassion for different ways of thinking and living.

In Australia, a big lesson to be learned was being in relationship, and many teachers came along the way. The biggest challenge by far was the single handed raising of his son. This became a part of the inward journey, one that he says took more commitment and courage than many of the 'outward' journeys.
