4.0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile fast-read for small choir directors and singers, August 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: O for a Dozen Tongues to Sing: Music Ministry with Small Choirs (Paperback)
This is a terrific little book for anybody involved with a small church choir. It feels more like a long magazine article than a book, but it's packed with great ideas. If you're looking for repertoire, there are several pieces recommended here, as well as some good additional sources. Also you'll find tips on recruiting and keeping members, how choirs with limited musicianship can still put together good, even powerful anthems, and dealing with small budgets. And anyone who's ever sung in a choir with eight sopranos, two altos, one tenor and five basses will recognize and enjoy the anecdotes.
