This outstanding book solved what numerous doctors, clinics, university hospitals could not do in 20 years. Using the clear, concise, easy guidelines in this book, my 20 year problems of obesity and chronic depression started to disappear in days, and 5 weeks later I was a totally new person. This book is just outstanding. It covers a wide variety of illness and ailments. Amino acids and essential fatty acids were critical to my results, yet they are inexpensive, safe to use, and have no adverse side effects. Three doctors who use this type of approach are James Kwako MD, Santa Barbara, CA., and Julian Whitaker MD, Newport Beach, CA., and Priscilla Slagle MD, Los Angeles; they have years of experience and success. The dramatic results I got from this book cannot be over stated. I use iHerb and Jo Mar Laboratories for obtaining the products needed. I am not affiliated or connected with any book, doctor, company listed here. I donated 8 copies of the book to 2 county library systems. The book saved my life.

Two years ago, I followed the Atkins' diet and easily lost 30 pounds, increased my energy level, lowered my LDL cholesterol and boosted my HDLs. I've had no trouble staying on the diet, and my health and stamina keep improving. Now Atkins gives us something even better: a well- documented, easy-to-use guide to using vitamins, minerals and other nutrients as the "treatment of choice" to overcome numerous conditions without the side-effects of drugs. Already, I followed his advice for zinc to completely clear up my acne in 5 days, and carnitine and chromium to further improve energy and mental outlook. This book and the "complementary medicine" movement may revolutionize health care in the United States!

This book surpasses all the books I own on herbs and vitamins. It also represents a life beyond being a prescription victim of the AMA. Again Dr. Atkins puts his tush on the line by giving people advice that is no where near conventional but puts the trust in the reader, his "patient" to try to heal themselves by natural and most often benign methods that bypass pharmaceutical side effects, toxic build up and cross interaction. He once again tries to change the staus quo with his off the beaten path knowledge and pays no mind to the flack he might receive in his efforts. This man believes in what he is doing and this book is a show-case of his whole medical stand point. I love it! A must for herbalist and vitamin-health gurus! A must for those with that want to take charge of their own health! Exhaustive and extensive about vitamins, the low-down on many products that the health industry over sells, and some you may never have heard of that could actually save your life! Dr. Atkins takes you on a very informed tour of the natural health product section, and teaches you a plethora of acquired knowlwdge.
