I just received my order two days ago and I love, LOVE this toothbrush. I cannot believe how soft it is. It gently massages your gums, and yet, because the bristles are so fine, it also cleans your teeth very well. As another reviewer mentioned, some of the bristles are longer to reach that tricky space between the teeth. I think this is what it actually means to "brush" teeth. I am now extremely outraged and offended by all those cheaply made (yet more expensive than the Perio!) "extra soft" toothbrushes offered at the drugstore. Compared to this they're more like scrubbers. Honestly, you cannot brush with those without ending up scrubbing your teeth.
12/11/2012 UPDATE: My original review still holds. These are great toothbrushes and I'm back to purchase more. The three I bought almost two years ago have lasted me well until now - the last one I'm using is not in any need of immediate replacement just yet. They really do last a long time. I wish I'd kept better track of how long I used each one but it's hard to tell. They hold up really well and I start thinking of replacing them only after the longer filaments start getting bent a little, so it depends on how much and how vigorously I use them.
This toothbrush is a definite need for anyone with senstivie gums or gum disease. They are a tad pricy, but the bristles don't wear out or fall out as fast as they do in a typical toothbrush. We just sterilize them once a month in hydrogen peroxide and they seem to last forever. We bought kid-sized versions for our children too. The gentle clean is well worth the cost in my opinion, as keeping your teeth and gums healthy is worth every penny!
