5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money
I found Dr. Collins Restore Toothpaste in an article on sciencedaily.com. My dental hygienist had scraped off too much of my enamel on one of my teeth and it was very sensitive and painful. I googled "remineralize teeth" and the article came up (third or fourth page of the search.) I've been using it for about six weeks, and my teeth no longer have any sensitive spots...

I found Dr. Collins Restore Toothpaste in an article on sciencedaily.com. My dental hygienist had scraped off too much of my enamel on one of my teeth and it was very sensitive and painful. I googled "remineralize teeth" and the article came up (third or fourth page of the search.) I've been using it for about six weeks, and my teeth no longer have any sensitive spots on them (not hot or cold or pressure) and my teeth look a lot better, too. I like this so much I've been buying it for friends and relatives. This product is a very welcome change from products that make promises, but don't deliver. It made promises and delivered more than it claimed to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really works to re-whiten teeth, September 12, 2009
This review is from: Dr. Collins Restore Revitalizing Toothpaste 3 Pack (Health and Beauty)
I don't usually write reviews but this product works so well that I do want to recommend it. My two upper front teeth were grayish rather than white or even yellowish-white, which my dentist explained was due to the enamel getting too thin after many years of brushing and general wear and tear, so that the inside of the teeth showed through. Based on a tip from his dental hygienist, I googled "remineralization," which led me to Novamin ("new minerals"), which is the new discovery, and then to Dr. Collins "Restore" toothpaste, which seems to be one of the few brands - maybe the only one - that includes Novamin.

After using it for a month or so, the enamel on these two teeth began to become less transparent, and hence whiter. Clearly, a new surface was building up. It has been about two months now and this is still continuing. So these two middle teeth are coming back to the appearance of the adjacent ones, which is what I was hoping for. My wife confirms that they definitely look better.

I am also sending a tube to my son, who suffers from sensitive teeth, since the remineralization will also very likely help him with that as well.

A remarkable product. I wonder how long it will be till the major toothpaste companies take note of Novamin and give it the wide publicity it deserves.

A new, glass-like coating is now on my teeth. I'm a 45 yr old male and I've had bad teeth all my life. My teeth had become sensitive and felt rough when I'd feel across them with a finger. I decided to try this Dr.Collin's remineralizing toothpaste and bought a tube and have been using it once a day for about a week. I can't believe it but now in only a week my teeth feel stonger, both internally & externally, and most of the sensitivity is gone. Now when I rub across them with my tongue (or finger), it literally feels like there's a new GLASS-like coating on all of my teeth! This stuff works. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Does Everything It Claims, August 30, 2008

I have used Dr. Collins Restore toothpaste now for a little over a week and what a difference! Before using this toothpaste, my front bottom teeth were extremely sensitive as I had some hairline cracks from age. After using the toothpaste for just two days, I saw a major change in the sensitivity and now I rarely remember that I had the problem. I highly recommend this toothpaste. You will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars It works!!!, April 23, 2010
This review is from: Dr. Collins Restore Revitalizing Toothpaste 3 Pack (Health and Beauty)
I had my back molar filled, but the discomfort continued on. The tooth and the area around it always felt burny and itchy and had a metallic taste. There was also sensitivity to cold and to sugar. Even very salty items would cause the condition to flare. Once it started, it would not stop. My tooth would just sit there, pulsating, itching from the inside, and I felt like it was driving me mad. OTC painkillers did nothing. I went to the dentist two more times to just have them look at my tooth, only to have them say both times that they saw nothing wrong with it other than demineralization and to use fluoride rinse and anti-sensitivity tooth paste. I did those things, but was still forced to resort to Orajel and/or clove oil to get even an hour of relief. Soon enough, even that didn't work anymore. All seemed hopeless.... But then I Googled "tooth remineralization" and this came up. I checked out some of the reviews from other sites, and it seemed promising. I am a skeptic about so-called miracle products, and I don't exactly like the idea of spending more than $7 on a toothpaste that I have to mail away for. BUT IT WORKS. It's only been 11 days and I am almost completely free of the flare-ups. I do have to be meticulous about brushing my teeth after every meal/snack. I use this stuff in the morning but don't rinse, so as to let it do its thing. A few hours later, I rinse my mouth with fluoride mouthwash. I brush with Isoactive toothpaste after lunch, and then use this stuff the rest of the time. I am SO GLAD I TRIED THIS, It is the miracle I had been praying for for months.

It is a little gritty but after you get used to it, it's no big deal. Something about its gritty texture seems to me to be a part of it doing its job.

Some reviews on other sites have said it is made in China. My tubes both say Made in USA.

THANK HEAVENS FOR THIS TOOTHPASTE.

4.0 out of 5 stars good product, November 27, 2009

I think the best way to use this product would be to first thoughraly clean, bleach, remove tartar, etc, using plaque removing type products. Then brush, but not rinse with flouride containing prduct, to leave some flouride on the teeth, then brush with this product. I this way when it does create a layer there is not plaque or discoloration trapped beneath, and also it does need some flouride in order for it to work.(the layer created is a flouro-apatite layer)
It think using it properly has helped in less sensitivity, and a stronger tooth surface.
I think it is also helpful to take a calcium, magnesium, vit-D supplement so there is suffiecient calcium excreted in the saliva for the chemical proces to work, (and to help the jaw bone)
This is an economical product for those that cannot afford the more expensive, higher novamin concentrated products.

Does all it is supposed to do (I hope) and more. Time will tell if my teeth will be getting stronger, but for the time being I enjoy this toothpaste very much. It really seems to kill bacteria, it's free of fluoride so you won't get gingivites using it, and it works really fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars sensitivity completely gone!, January 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dr. Collins Restore Revitalizing Toothpaste 3 Pack (Health and Beauty)
I have been using this product for the last 4 months or so, and whilst on the first tube, I noticed my sensitivity was completely gone. I am 24 years old, and I have receding gums, and some acid erosion of enamel due to years of purging. The last year, my teeth got so sensitive up where the gumline was receding, that I could barely stand to brush my teeth due to the sharp pain. Plus my teeth were getting very yellow.

Shortly after I began use of this product, the sensitivity went away completely, and my teeth are slightly whiter. I feel able to smile again, without so much shame. Also, my teeth feel much more smooth, like they have a protective coating on them.

One con is that it doesn't lather too well, and you can easily use too much and go right through the tube very quickly - I made that mistake the first time and had to order a nedw 3 pack after the first month!
What I do now is either brush once in the day with Dr. Collins, and the next time with a regular flouride toothpaste, and swithch off like that, or I will put half Dr. Collins Restore with half of reg. flouride toothpaste on the brush and use both at the same time. This helps me save quantity of the good stuff, and I think it is good to combine the novamin with flouride.

I would love a product that uses 10% novamin and 5% flouride, but haven't found this as of yet. Till then, I'll continue to use this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars How to use this Product Efficently, June 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dr. Collins Restore Revitalizing Toothpaste 3 Pack (Health and Beauty)
This product works great by itself.. however...
After several days of research, I've come up with the best way to use this product. (seriously no joke)

**Step 1: Trash your old aquafresh, colgate, etc toothpaste, yeah you know those ones you see in the store for .99c to 2bucks.

Step 2: Brush with baking soda,
Step 3: Add water to the baking soda and use it as a mouthwash or use the Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash
Step 4: Apply mineral oil, either by brushing lightly or used a rinse.
Step 5: Apply this product. Gently over the teeth I just use a finger, let the saliva water it then swash it around in the mouth, and spit do not rinse.

**This product contains Glycerin, glycerin will put a film over your teeth that helps protect it, but keep in mind protecting it also denies 'good' minerals to access it as well as blocking bad bacteria. Baking Soda will nutralize and kill bacteria in your mouth, as well as nuetralize any acid that is eating away at your teeth. So applying a mineral oil before you apply this product is the best way to do it. Because it will trap the minerals from the oil that will help your teeth become healthy, not to mention the added bonus of the novamin that gets trapped with it (you can use other types of oils like olive oil, and other high vitamin/mineral oils etc.)

After doing this for just a few days I have notice a huge improvement in the condition of my teeth. Before the lower jaw in the front row were extremely translucent, now the translucent effect seem to have lessened and my teeth really do seem brigher and healthier. The two front teeth on the upper jaw have also lessened in the translucency. I am a coffee drinker, smoker, tea drinker, soda drinker, and yes I see a difference, following this method alot of stains are practically being removed magically, and the yellowing is lessioning dramaticly.

***If you want to brighten your teeth really quick pick up some Hydro-Peroxide mouthwash, you can find it just by doing a search. The hydrogen will actually be absorbed to the very core of your teeth, the part that by default is yellow. (the enamal is what makes the white effect). Use it instead/with the secondary mouthwash with baking soda, it will also remove acidity and kill bacteria in the mouth.

This product is an A++ I will purchase this product again. Can't wait to see the actual results within a months time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, November 22, 2010

This is excellent toothpaste. I've only been using it for a week and when I woke up this morning, my mouth was still clean from brushing the night before. And I didn't even have morning breath! Pretty amazing. I don't have any weird breath problems or anything, but that never happened with Sensodyne or Colgate.

It gets your teeth clean. Even better than whitening toothpaste. And instead of grinding away at your tooth enamel, you're adding to it. You're remineralizing your teeth and that makes them whiter as well as stronger.

I did not expect this great of results so quickly. Pretty amazed.

I'm also pretty engrossed in this book about reversing tooth decay. Cure Tooth Decay: Heal And Prevent Cavities With Nutrition Apparently, everything we've been told by our dentists is wrong! Not on board completely yet, but some of the ideas might be worth a try. Meantime I'll work on the outside of my teeth with this toothpaste.

And it's American made now. The box and the tube say so.
