For some weird reason I recently got incredibly itchy, peeling lips, almost like excema on them. The dermatologist coulnt help, tablets I took for it didnt help, herbal remedies, allergy tests, traditional cortizone cream - nothing worked! The skin around my mouth got itchy, red, peeling, and swollen. I looked like I had a giant red clown mouth, with cuts at the corners too. It looked so gross, and it hurt too because the itch was terrible. I tried this out of sheer desperation and doubted it would work, cause nothing else did.
I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who has suffered the same thing. Its really, really great. My lips healed VERY quickly, within 2 days they were back to normal. I also dont have to use it religiously either. Yeah, it tastes gross, but just dont eat it! Great, great great product.

I had extremely dry skin above my lips, and cracks in the corner. I have had this on off since I was about 13. I have tried aquaphor, blistex, carmex, baycuten, beyipher, bepanthen, chapstick, vitamins, I drank tons of water AND NOTHING HELPED!! I got this Friday at 6pm. The druness above my lips burned, itched and I looked like a freak. Also my college semester just started and of course my new classmates looked at me like I have swine flu. Anyways, I put the balm on Friday and today it is Sunday. My lips are about 95% healed already. I seriously cannot believe it. If I ever see this Dr. Dan guy I will kiss him and tell him I love him. (I'm a 22 year old male). Get this now.

I bought this balm because I was having problems with my lips. I don't know if it was a cold sore or a bacterial infection, as my trip to the doctor yielded no helpful information and my referral to a dermatologist isn't for two months. However, after having been on a prescription for cold sores and using several different over-the-counter medicines for cold sores with no improvement, I decided to use this balm. So far, it seems to be helping, but I just can't get my lips to totally heal. But at least I only look like I have a mild case of chapped lips instead of looking like I have "lepper lips." The taste of this balm is tolerable and it does make my lips feel softer.

This is the best lip balm product I have ever used...it actually works unlike all of the other products that I have tried! In preparation for winter, when my lips are at their dryest, I am ordering several tubes. Don't waste your money on other products, try Dr. Dan's and you will never buy another brand again!

This product is truly amazing. I am currently using accutaine and my lips were severely, severely chapped...I had tried quite literally all the other consumer products on store shelves until I was told about this product. My chapped lips are gone. I use the balm about 6 times a day..One of the really great things about the alm is that you cannot over use it. With the gentle 1 % Hydrocortisone you can use it liberally without worrying about using to much or using it for too long. This is the only product i will use from now on for my chapped lips. I agree with what Dr Dan's website indicates...you should only use regular chap stick when your lips aren't chapped...otherwise use Dan's Cortibalm!

I am an OBGYN doctor and just happened upon this lip balm in my office sample cabinet a little over a week ago. I have been using it since then, as my lips always feel terribly raw/chapped and I find myself "picking" at them to try to even them out, which only makes the problem worse. This is the only lip balm I have ever used that actually HEALED them, without any burning or irritation. In the past I have had to resort to Elocon cream, a rather potent steroid, which burns terribly but at least would remedy things. The Dr. Dan's is very smooth and soothing; I read some other reviews saying that the taste was awful, but I don't think it has any taste at all. It surely tastes lots better than Carmex or Blistex, that's for sure! The texture is very smooth, not waxy, soaks into your lips without leaving a slimy residue, but leaving enough of a film to know it is there.
I've never written a review on anything before, I don't know Dr. Dan or have any ties to his company. The product is simply great enough that I sought it out to buy it online and have been telling my patients and friends about it for the last week!

I've just finished my second month of accutane and my lips are starting to peel. It's not severe (sure hope it doesn't get worse) and I always keep my lips moisturized. I tried cortibalm because of all the other great reviews. Honestly, aquafor and even bonne bell's organic lip balms are far better at keeping lips from peeling! Not only do I not really notice a difference with cortibalm, the taste is absolutely HORRENDOUS! When I first put it on, I noticed a few hours later there was a very bitter, unpleasant taste in my mouth! I realized I must've licked my lips unknowingly. Don't ever do that if you're using this. It's very unpleasant. I won't be buying it again. As a matter of fact, I probably won't use the tube that I have any more.

I found this product several years ago, when I had severely chapped, painful lips. My lips would throb they were in such a terrible shape. It was not winter, so I am still not sure what caused this problem. I found this product and my lips were literally healed in 1-2 days. They felt better almost immediately. My daughter now has severely chapped lips due to winter weather and I am ordering again for her. I would not recommend this as an everyday balm, as others have mentioned it does contain hydocortisone, which can be absorbed systemically. But if you have severly dry, chapped, or cracked lips use it short term, you will be amazed as well!

All the other lip balms that I have tried (and I have tried just about everything) irritates my lips. I also get rashes, very chapped lips/sunburns on my lips easily. Dr. Dan's has Hydrocortisone in it that brings down the swelling when my lips are irritated, and the other ingredients keep my lips moist. My dermatologist recommended Dr. Dan's to me, and I am so grateful that I do not have to live with painfully irritated and broken out lips anymore!

Extremely dry lips as a result of medication. This product is the only source of relief found and was recommended by the dermatologist. Tastes badly but other than that it was a perfect solution and relief. Don't use it just before eating or drinking. Highly recommend it.
