5.0 out of 5 stars BUY THIS ALBUM OR WE SHOOT YOUR DOG... or something...
For anyone who is a fan of strange, bizzarre, or out-and-out weird music, this is a must have for the CD collection. Classic craziness from Benny Bell and Spike Jones (the Godfather of Demented Music), to modern madness from Weird Al, the Buoys, and Green Jelly. Laugh yourself unconcious! Why not get the 20th Anniversary while you're at it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Another Decent Demento Collection
The age of the internet and a la carte music sales has made compilation albums a bit of a tough sell nowadays. However this Dr. Demento collection does do a good job of putting together a pretty good collection of obscure and hard to find comedy bits, songs and parodies. Some of the songs are newer and can be found elsewhere, but a good many of the songs are classic...

4.0 out of 5 stars Typical Weird Stuff, July 14, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Dr. Demento: 25th Anniversary Collection (Audio CD)
Yet another anthology of weird and kooky stuff. Some of the oddest stuff ever to be put on a pair of CD's. Everything from Leonard Nimoy(Mr. Spock) singing to "Weird Al" making fun of yet another pop tune. From Oldies from Spike Jones & His City Slickers to new stuff from Green Jelly. All in all, if you are looking for good fun tunes. This is one of the best collections

It's hard to believe Dr.Demento has been plying his trade for three decades now-This anthology has some great stuff-My personal favorites are "Smells Like Nirvana","Entering Marion","Moose Turd Pie","Leader Of The Laundromat",& "Sensitive New Age Guys"-If you're an aficionado of humor, like I am,you owe it to yourself to purchase this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's good, though!, February 4, 2005

This is the second of the Dr. Demento "Anniversary" compilations. There are less of the most famous novelty hits this time around, because most of them appeared on the first compilation. But there is no drop in quality, because even the lesser known tracks here are great. If you are a fan of mad music and crazy comedy, you should get this.

This is a good example of the songs he shared with the listening audience back in the old days. I enjoy hearing them every now and then I've made a playlist on my ipod just for Dr. Demento.

LOL I haven't heard a lot of these songs since I was in High School. They're still good now, almost 20 years on. I've not laughed this hard in a long time. If you are a fan, pick this up. If you like weird, pick this up. This is just great stuff, plain and simple.

The age of the internet and a la carte music sales has made compilation albums a bit of a tough sell nowadays. However this Dr. Demento collection does do a good job of putting together a pretty good collection of obscure and hard to find comedy bits, songs and parodies. Some of the songs are newer and can be found elsewhere, but a good many of the songs are classic bits long lost before the digital revolution. As with anything presented by Dr. Demento the comedy is pretty tame, but good for a few chuckles here and there. I look at this set as being the other half of his 20th anniversary set that he didn't have room for. A worthy purchase for a novelty song collector, or someone looking for mild humor, but not much more then that.
