5.0 out of 5 stars The Kingdom's Trio, December 2, 2010
By
This review is from: Dr. Doctrine's Christian Comix on the Trinity (Paperback)
"On The Trinity" isn't your usual comic book. Don't expect Protestants and Catholics battling vampires (Hellsing, Vol. 1) or Sister Rosette with her priest boyfriend battling demons (Chrono Crusade, Vol. 1) This comic book plays it straight. It traces the doctrine of the Trinity historically, explains the philosophy... all without being preachy and boring. Though published by the evangelical Intervarsity Press, it isn't anti-Catholic like The World of Jack T. Chick. The section on the Trinity in art is fascinating. The Trinity has been portrayed as three identical men (one can see it at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Santa Fe, New Mexico) or as one man with three faces. The famous depiction by Andrei Rublev is briefly discussed.

"On the Trinity" makes a challenging subject accessible. Fun, and good for the soul too!
