When my cat started messing on the floor, we were way beyond the "find him another home" stage. This is the cat of my life! The best cat I ever had.

Well, then he started messing on the floor. So then what?

Luckily, I remembered I'd seen this litter in the pet store. It says it's guaranteed that the cat will use the box, every time.

Sure.

But what did I have to lose?

I tried it. Problem solved.

I have no financial interest whatever in this product--sorry to sound like an ad. The litter does not smell funny to humans, and, other than being maybe a little heavy, doesn't seem unusual. Obviously, cats look at things differently. I have no idea why it works. It just does.

This stuff is like a magnet, truly. We were having some issues with one cat showing his anger by leaving puddles by the front door, but that cleared up when I started using this litter. So it's great in that aspect.
The negative points:
--It's heavy. I guess I'm so used to using The World's Best Cat Litter (WBCL) that I've forgottten how heavy clay is, but cleaning the litter box turned into an arm workout.
--While I like the herbal attract part, I dislike the clay for a number of reasons. I wish he sold just the herbal formula that I could mix into my WBCL.

My solution: Now I'm back to using the WBCL as usual, but I keep a bag of Cat Attract around and sprinkle some on top every time I top up the boxes with more of the other litter. It seems to still do the trick that way, and I can be using my preferred litter. I actually did a little test recently where I dumped all the older litter into one box and filled up the other one with fresh clean WBCL. I sprinkled Cat Attract on the old stuff. For the next few days, the cats ONLY used the old litter. I had to put some Cat Attract on the new box just so they'd start using it, as well. Certainly a tribute to its effectiveness.

So 5 stars for effectiveness, and 3 stars because it's clay-based.

** Update - Dr. Elsey does now make a Cat Attract Additive that can be added to any non-scented clumping litter, so that's what I'm going to go with now--no clay and smaller shipping charge. Perfect! Amazon doesn't sell it yet, though.

In December a stray 4-month old kitten found its way to our home. We took her into our home, and she joined our family: our 10-year old male cat, our 3 1/2 year old male cat, and our 4-year old female German shepherd. We've never had any issues with cats not using their litter boxes. The new one, who is totally an indoor cat now, started out using the litter box. After having her spayed (the day after Christmas), she became haphazard with using the box. She decided she preferred the bathtub and dining room rug as her bathroom facilities. After recuperating from her surgery, she continued the habit. Every now and then she would use her box, but her preference was the other areas. We became desperate, and giving her away was out of the question. My husband and I have no human children; our pets are our children. After much research and reading the Cat Attract reviews, we made the two-hour round trip to our nearest pet store that carried Cat Attract - we didn't have time to wait for it to be shipped! As soon as we arrived home, we replaced the "old" litter. Our female feline immediately hopped in and used the bathroom. This was almost one week ago, and we have had no "bathroom" issues. This is the most amazing product. It has saved our sanity and our dining room rug! Now we can enjoy our kitten and not worry about where her next bathroom stop will be. Interestingly, our two adult cats have no interest in the litter. They continue to use their litter box with their Fresh Step scoopable.

I ordered this and have ACTUALLY USED IT, because I bought a kitten that pottied on the floor a couple times and my adults started following suite. If one goes on the floor the others tend to start doing it to because it is there nature to be territorial. A booklet guide is INCLUDED with the litter on how to help break behavioral problems and also clues as to if the situation is dangerous to your cats health. So someone who may have assumed the situation to be behavioral is given a "heads up" to possible health concerns. I never had to use the other behavior modification methods described in the booklet as the litter was ALL it took to accomplish the job. Most people who have a cat that is "marking" territory is not necessarily a health problem especially in multiple cat households, but of course be aware of the clues. So far the product has worked wonders. My kitten has NEVER pottied on the floor since and my adults tend to want to use the kittens litter box rather than their own! The adults territorial marking completely and immediately ceased. So if you have cats and don't want your house to smell like you have cats due to territorial marking, this product is truly a BLESSING! I am sad that PetFoodDirect has discontinued the 40lb bags right after I found something so wonderful for my Persian cattery. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it!

My two and a half year old female began not using the litterbox at 6 months old. After learning that there was no medical reason for this, I began trying many different techniques, including puppy training pads and behavioral medication. With wall to wall carpeting in an apartment, her habits became very frustrating. I do think my cats are part of the family and would not consider giving her up, so I decided to work with her. I began using Cat Attract at a time when she did not use the litterbox at all. After six months of using Cat Attract, she uses the litterbox most of the time. She is not 100%, but cleaning an accident once every couple of weeks is much better than 5-7 times a day. She does not use training pads anymore and I believe that this is the result of the Cat Attract. It is excellent. It also clumps well and the clumps do not crumble. It feels heavier than other cat litters, but a 40 pound bag will always be 40 pounds. It also creates very little dust compared to other litters because of the larger granules. I would never switch to another litter. While it hasn't "cured" her completely, this is not the failure of the litter. She has been helped tremendously at a time when nothing else worked.

I have a male that was acting out not using his litter pan, I purchased this product hoping it would do the trick. Unfortunately it didn't work. I am sure it does for some cats, but not for all. I suggest buying the smallest bag first to make sure as it is expensive. It is a nice litter and clumps well, so I gave it 2 stars for that.

This product helped curb our male cat from "marking" his territory all over our brand new house. My wife and I tried everything and I mean everything to get this cat to use the litter box again after home construction. If you are havinr trouble getting the cat to go in the spot you designate try this stuff. I never thought I would write a review about cat litter, but this stuff did save our cat. If it can save one more cat it is worth it. Thank you Dr. Elsey you saved the day.

I have had two cats for about 3 years and after moving twice one of my cats got rather angry about the whole ordeal and would pee and poop in the corner of the living room and soon after on our bed. Yuck! After trying numerous suggestions that failed, I was pointed towards Dr. Elsey's products. Let me tell you, they're wonderful. Ever since switching to the Cat Attract, knock on wood, my cat has always used the litter box. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that your cat is finally happy. And the way it clumps the pee and is dust-free makes it worth the extra money paid on the fancy litter. Try it and save you cat a trip to the pound!

My cat decided after years of using Feline Pine that he didn't like it anymore.
I tried EVERY brand and he wouldn't use the litter.
Then, the guy at the pet store asked me if I'd seen this Cat Attract litter.
It was probably the last litter I hadn't tried yet.

My cats love it! When I change the litter, they go in it just to dig and sometimes don't even go potty. They just are attracted to it.

It's miracle litter!

Remember though that when a cat who is usually a well mannered box user all of a sudden changes his habits, it can be a sign that something is medically wrong with them. That's how they tell you that something is wrong by acting out of the ordinary. I had a cat start doing that years ago and he had a urinary blockage. Now, I know to watch for any signs of strange behavior (especially in the male cats since they seem to get the blockage more often than the females do).

It works !!! My cat no longer goes outside of his litter box !!! He was taken to the vet to make sure he did not have an unrinary tract infection and I followed Dr. Elsey's instructions and we are both happy !!!
