5.0 out of 5 stars What's Done in the Dark..., March 19, 2007
This review is from: Dr. Feelgood (Mass Market Paperback)
Dr. Feelgood by Marissa Monteilh tells the tale of a successful
black man in the field of medicine who practices the bedside
manners of the doctors viewed on television primetime dramas. Dr.
Makkai Worth is a talented heart surgeon to his patients and a
talented lover to the many women in his life. He believes that he
has perfected the art of juggling his career and his women. With
the many demands in the operating room, he has just as many demands
in the bedroom. Dr. Feelgood must make sure that the appetites of
the four women in his life are satisfied. He must make sure that
Salina, with her hot and spicy Latin flavor, is getting what her
husband is not giving to her; Georgia's peach remains ripe and juicy
for the picking; Monday is getting her hands in all of the right
places, including the wallet and Mary Jane is making all the
possibilities peak, including the possibility of settling down. A
man with everything going right in his life soon realizes that it
can quickly go wrong.

Marissa Monteilh breathes life into a list of characters whom you
will not soon forget. At first glance, skimming the summary of the novel,
one would think that this is just the typical player's novel. This
could not be further from the truth. Monteilh allows a glance into
the life and times of each character and the reader is given their
perspective. As the novel unwinds and the lies unravel, the reader
is exposed to earth-shattering secrets, heart wrenching betrayal and
a laundry list of lies. This book will be loved by thrill seeking
enthusiasts since it reads like a rollercoaster ride - plenty of
twists and turns that will throw you for a loop. It is even revealed
to the reader through the erotic bedroom scenes how the good doctor
earned his nickname.

I would recommend this book to any reader that is looking to not
read the average player, eventually getting played novel. Monteilh
gives this genre a breath of fresh air. This book was filled with
enough drama and suspense that it quickly became a page turner.
Readers will delight in the fact that Monteilh took the time to
develop each character, their storyline and their relationship with
Dr. Feelgood. The characters are believable in this novel; so much
so that the reader may recognize a character in a co-worker, friend
or family member - I know I did. In the end, Monteilh leaves
readers with just enough of a tease to crave the sequel immediately.

4.0 out of 5 stars To'Cha Smith of Chapter2Chapter Book Club, April 9, 2007
This review is from: Dr. Feelgood (Mass Market Paperback)
Dr. Feelgood is an exciting story of an educated and stimulating character that embodies the word sexy!!! Dr. Feelgood aka Makkai Worthy, appears to have it all, including a great career, superb physic and his choice of women. But when Dr. Feelgood, is almost killed by the husband of Saucy Hot Salina, he moves on to one of his other play toys. Georgia, who thinks she's the one goes above and beyond rationale by inviting the sex ready doctor to join her and a friend in a little Ménage a trois. Monday is also one of Dr. Feelgood's preys who appears to be laid back and reserved, until her true colors show when she can't get the good doctor to succumb to her demands. Mary seems to have what it takes to lock this fine specimen of a doctor down. Not only does she give the doctor a taste of his own medicine, but she has Makkai questioning her sincerity and whether or not he should throw his game away.

Marissa Monteilh tells a story of sexual drama and emotional twist. She also displays a hidden truth on how a player's behavior can stem from past abuse by a loved one. In Makkai's case, it was his father who subjected and forced Makkai to lose his innocence at an early age in order to validate his manhood. Now as a grown man, Makkai is ultimately forced to deal with his emotions and has to decide whether or not a future of sex games is what he wants to play. Makkai ultimately has a profound awakening that leads him to a road of stability, genuine love and eternal happiness. ChapterIIChapter loved this book for its spicy characters and its body melting sex scenes. We can't wait to read what Marissa is cooking up next!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating: 4.5) - That man takes care of all my pains and my ills..., February 10, 2007

This review is from: Dr. Feelgood (Mass Market Paperback)
Dr. Makkai Worthy, an award winning heart surgeon, is the ultimate lover. With a bevy of beauties at his beck and call, his sexual prowess far exceeds his skills in the operating room. With his demanding career and extra-curricular activities, he still goes home each day feeling empty and unfulfilled. Will he be able to juggle his personal and professional life for much longer, especially with jealous lovers and angry spouses seeking revenge?

The women is his life are Salina, his oh-so-hot and very married Latin lover, and Georgia, who enjoys the benefits of dating Makkai but has some desires he can't fulfill. He is also seeing Monday, a sister with style and sophistication, and Mary Jane who has a knockout body and a heart of gold. Will either of these ladies be able to tame his spirit or will they only contribute to his undoing?

Marissa Monteilh's DR. FEELGOOD is a must read for all of her fans. Although the main character is a philanderer, readers will find themselves loving him because of the great character development. He is portrayed as a three-dimensional figure. The book is filled with lots of drama and erotic sex scenes, there is never a dull moment. The novel also touches on issues such as infidelity, familial relationships and generational behaviors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dr. Feelgood by Marissa Monteilh: An PeoplewholoveGoodBooks Review, January 2, 2007
This review is from: Dr. Feelgood (Mass Market Paperback)
Dr. Makkai Worthy is a gifted surgeon with a successful practice who is single, handsome, and a good catch. Known as "Dr. Feelgood" to the 4 women in his life, Makkai is on top of the world but his world is about to come tumbling down.

Salina is sexy but married but will Makkai stick around after her husband finds out and tried to kill him?

Georgia is a single mother who is determined to be the "one" in Makkai's life but she's hiding a secret that will change everything.

Monday claims not not be interested in anything serious but when an unexpected situation comes up, Makkai finds out Monday is truly not all that she appears.

Mary Jane is a nurse who is the total package but when Makkai's best friend tries to make play for her, will Makkai finally choose?

Dr. Feelgood is a interesting look in the life of a player. A entertaining story with intriguing characters, sexy scenes, and a few twists and turns, this is one story that you will not be able to put down. This may be the best story that Marissa Monteilh has written! Reviewed by Shay C of PeoplewholoveGoodBooks.

I must admit after the first few chapters I was not feeling this book. However I kept reading and this book turned into an off the chain turn of events that kept me hooked. There were so many twists and turns and the author did a wonderful job of character development. I feel like I know each character personnally. I will definitely look for the sequel and more from the author.

4.0 out of 5 stars "The Feel Good Dr.", October 27, 2007

This review is from: Dr. Feelgood (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a damn good book and I would've given it "5 stars" but things changed when Roosevelt impregnated his daughter and had a three-way with his son, then Makkai finds out that he and Monday are related she's pregnant and now he has a daughter/niece. Georgia be true to yourself girl, Salina find a man that truly makes you happy chica, and Mary Jane nice girls finish first girlfriend. Carlos this is no competition you can hold your own. This book made me chuckle, frown and made me say "hmmm". What's next?
