I bought this pencil on a whim. I normally buy the Tul 0.7mm pencils, which I still like. The Dr. Grip 0.7mm has a nice weight to it, it has a comfortable grip and lately I have been using as my primary writing tool. I use mechanical pencils every day at work and I like using this one. I have only had this pencil for about a week, so I cannot comment on longterm durability, but so far so good.

Most comfortable pencil I have ever used. Arthritis, tendonitis, the size is great. I bear down when writing and this hold up to my pressure. I will definitely buy another, if this one ever gives out.

My Favorite Pencil!,

The grip on this pencil is perfect. If you ever take it apart, there is a firmer grip inside,( the colored portion), and then a clear softer grip on the outside for comfort. This allows you to have a really comfortable pencil without it being really wide and fat in your hands. The pencil is also not top heavy, the center of gravity feature seems to help out with comfort as well. My first pencil lasted a year with daily use, and it was only rendered unusable after a pit bull attack left it damaged beyond repair (my puppy got into my bag and munched the pencil). This "cheap" plastic pencil has been tossed in my bag with several heavy textbooks, dropped repeatedly both in the bag with textbooks and fallen on the floor. I feel this pencil can last for years and years and is quite durable for a student or office worker.
Also, this product was approved by the arthritis association, this is the reason I purchased this in the first place. I don't have permanent arthritis in my hands but do occasionally get RA flare-ups. When I am in pain, this is my go-to pencil...the width of the grip is not too small like a regular wooden pencil and not too fat like some of the other Dr. Grip pencils....it is perfect. If you have problems with stiff hands, or arthritis or even RA I would recommend at least trying this pencil out to see if it can make writing more comfortable.

I have 2 Dr. Grip 0.5 mm pencils I purchased 1 year ago. They are terrific. They have a metal barrel, nicely weighted and have a great feel and look. This week I purchased a new 0.7mm Dr. Grip. The entire barrel of the pencil is now made of plastic. The semi-automatic feed feature is also gone. These are so cheap now that they should be sold for 99 cents instead of $[...]. Why did Pilot take a great product and turn it into crap?
