I'm always looking for natural deodorants that work. And of all the ones I've tried, this one works the best -- better even than any antiperspirant I've used, actually. It is just a really great product. It smells good and leaves me smelling good. On the downside, Dr. Hauschka products are expensive, and unlike the other products of theirs that I've tried, this seems to get used up very quickly. It seemed like after using this for a week or two, 1/4 of it was gone. I'm giving it 5 stars because it is just so good. The floral scent is very nice too.

This is the first time I have written a review. I've neither posted one to rave about a product, and neither have I written one to slam one either. I have to say though that I was hoping this deodorant would replace the crystal deodorant I had been using, but it is not working out that way.

I had been using the crystal deodorant with much success, in that I certainly always stayed clean smelling and never got any B.O. when I've used it.

The reason I was wanting to replace it with something else, is because it is not soft. Because it is made of salt, you have to wet it to use it, but pieces break off over time, or if it falls over onto your counter and chips off.

And, so my underarms were getting pretty cut up over time which, needless to say, is the thing that has me trying to find a new deodorant to replace the old one with.

This one however is not working out either for other reasons. First, I like the scent: very light, airy, refreshing, herbal, it's lovely! And, it is a roll-on which is wonderful since it leaves my underarms feeling nice and smooth, not cut up.

But, the truth is it just does not provide good protection from B.O. It could be that perhaps the climate where I live -- Miami, FL -- is just not suitable for it, although this has been a cool week in the lower 40's to lower 60's -- not exactly Miami summer weather, and I am reeking like I never have before....honest to God!

And, this is coming from someone who showers twice a day and who is vehemently opposed to foul body odor in any form. I even gave up smoking in large part because I was always disgusted by the smell and I was tired of having to be obsessive about it!

But, I digress...the whole point of this review is to let some other poor gal (or guy) out there know to not waste your time with this product. I am going to go back to using my crystal deodorant, but this week I need to buy something else to replace Dr. Hauscka's because I need to be able to rely on my deodorant, that it will do just that.

Perhaps, someone is thinking just why I don't buy any $3.00 deodorant, but there are somethings I want in my products--something not chock full of pthalates, parabens, and other offensive chemicals and substances, which is why I bought this, because it is supposed to not have those things in it, but the truth is I need a product that does what it says it will -- deodorize -- along with smelling pretty and feeling nice and being a healthy choice and this is just not that product!

I definitely don't feel that this was money well spent and that bothers me because I am not a spendthrift at all! Do yourself a favor and learn from someone else's mistake--moi! ;) That, they say, is what wisdom is all about!

PS -- I tried giving it zero stars by not choosing any stars for the rating, and it did not allow it, so please keep in mind when you see my rating of 1 star. I did not want to give it even that much, but I was forced to!

I prefer this over Kiehl's antiperspirant. The scent is of herbs, on the minty side. It's expensive, but it supports a great botanical garden, or so I think. If I'm ever in German I want to check out the compound at Dr. Hauschka.
