This was a really good book. It's honest, forthright, and obviously written by a person that is a relationship expert. No theories, no airs, Dr. Kate calls it like it is. She teaches how to seek, find and make love grow -- with a positive, yet realistic attitude. I especially liked the chapter on the differences between how men and women view sex. How many of us women have paced the floors wondering why that man we just slept with on the first date isn't calling back again? Dr. Kate makes it all make sense. I loved her discussion of the soulmate myth, things to consider before moving in with someone, and what to do when your boyfriend won't commit. Even the appendices are packed with useful information. I came away from this book feeling more secure about my love life and really hopeful. I know this is one book I will read over again.

I thought this book was great. I'm single and in the Looking For Love Stage, so I enjoyed the chapters on flirting, dating, compatibility, communication and sex the best. But since I hope someday to enter the Marriage Stage, I intend to reread the chapters on commitment, marriage, communication and working through the problems when I get there. I'm going to keep this book handy for easy reference, so I can make the most of my relationships.

I also enjoyed Dr. Kate's friendly, down-to-earth style. I liked the little stories that illustrated her points, and the questionnaires were really fun. I also felt inspired by her attitude that if you don't like the stage you're in, you can change it. The chapter on how to stay happy no matter what relationship stage you're in was also terrific. I know how bad it feels when I go through a break up, and I'm glad I now have this book to guide me through that process with the least amount of pain. Way to go, Dr. Kate!

As a divorced woman, I have been around awhile and have my own observations about life. So I was pleasantly surprised when I read this book. It truly is a book for anyone who has ever been in a relationship or who ever wants to be. Reading Dr. Kate's communication, marriage and divorce chapters brought back memories of life with my ex, and I was able to better understand what happened between us and why. I loved the communication and compatibility quizzes, and her techniques for how to grieve more efficiently. There's even a chapter on Happiness and Relationships and another on Starting Over. I wish I had read this book when I was first divorced -- I could have saved myself a lot of grief! If anyone wants to find and keep a good relationship, or if you're trying to survive a breakup or divorce, this is the book for you!
