5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than Tetris!
When I first bought Dr. Mario, I thought it be just an imatation of Tetris. It sort of is, but its even more fun. You have to get rid of all the germs by lining up pills of the same color onto each other. You suceed after you get rid of all the germs. Like Tetris, you die when the pills reach the top of the screen and have no where else to go. This game never gets old...

You can adjust the speed of the game and the music. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dr.Mario, December 27, 2006

Dr.Mario is a great game once you start playing it. It is the same as the NES version, so if you like Dr. Mario for NES, you'll like the Gameboy version. You play by dropping pills on viruses. It is compatible with Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and Gameboy Advance SP.

4.0 out of 5 stars addiction, March 21, 2007

this game is for the "organizer" who doesn't have time to play a long drawn out action game. I've been addicted to this game for years. it's simple, challenging, and the rules don't change from level to level. something to play when you have a few minutes, or hours. not for those who like graphics and lots of action. but great for a quiet mind-activity game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dr. Mario Game Boy, March 27, 2011

Everyone remembers Dr. Mario as that amazing puzzle game that came out shortly after Tetris, and no worries because it still is amazing. Lately I have been getting back into retro games and this was an obvious pick up for my 89 Game Boy. I love the game and it is everything that I remember but... the Game Boy version was way harder than the NES version or any other version I remember. The pills come down wicked fast on the higher levels and settings. I would only pick this version of the game up if you really want to have that retro experience on your classic Game Boy.

This game challenges your ability to think fast. When viruses are multi-colored, you have to act quickly to place it in
the best spot. You can test your level and your speed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Your puzzle fever is cured, December 8, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Dr. Mario (Game Cartridge)
If you like puzzle games similar to Tetris, then Dr. Mario is right up your alley.

Dr. Mario contains 20 levels of virus-bustin' difficulty.

The game is a simple 4-in-a-row type of puzzler. Back then, it was pretty unique and was thought of being obviously inspired by Tetris.

It's a really addicting puzzle game, but things are even more fun on the Game Boy because of its portability.

4.0 out of 5 stars Such a great game!, November 17, 1999

I just love Dr. Mario. I was a devoted Tetris player and saw that Dr. Mario was a similar puzzle-type game where you arrange the falling vitamin pills (speed increases just like in Tetris) in order to eradicate the blinking viruses. It's simple to learn, but the more you play, the more strategy you learn, making better choices in the placement of the pills. I find it's a good game to grab when you have just a few minutes to kill because you can play a quick one very easily. If you like Tetris, you'll love Dr. Mario, too.
