Product Description

A year-on-year favourite, this staple boot collection draws on a biker heritage, emphasised by the choice of sturdy Harvest leathers. Neat buckle detailing and crisp lines are supplemented by a patterned lining. Twin Buckle Ankle Boot. Dark Brown Burnished Wyoming leather upper. Lumberjack style lining. Goodyear-welted, the upper and sole are heat-sealed and sewn together. Sole offers good abrasion and slip resistance.

Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

I love these boots. The only bad this is that they are not the most comfortable thing to wear all day, Your need some insoles.

The fit was a little big at first, but they are the most comfortable boots ever. It's like wearing slippers.

Docs comfort as we all know and can be used as motorcycle boots as suggested. The typical Docs soles are of course not as dense/heavy as some motorcycle boots but just don't drag your feet when the bike is moving. Slip on comfort and very decent smooth leather. Good for everyday wear!

As expected from Doc Martin boots - very comfortable - however beware for riders - the soles melt very easily on the exhaust and mark the pipes far too easily

I think these are the first Dr. Martens boots that i haven't had a great experience with. They were fine, but I ended up replacing them after about 3 months.

An excellent boot. Very comfortable. Looks just like the advertised image. I love the deep brown color. They have fat, oil, petrol, acid and alkali resistant soles which is perfect for motorcycling. What more can I say? I mean, they don't walk themselves...

Love my new boots and the fair price I paid.
Nice color brown, soft leather, nice fit, can
wear them all day without and discomfort.

My only complaint was that the belts don't tighten
enough, letting your foot move around while walking.

I'm bringing mine to the shoe repair store this week
to get more holes added, so I could tighten them more.
