Dr. Marten's Chukka Boot, October 3, 2007
The product is not exactly as I envisioned it from the available photos but is is serviceable. One thing that I don't understand is why put lacing hooks at the bottom row of the lacing eyelets? That is entirely backward from what was expected and I found it annoying to have to re-hook the laces in the open hooks every time I put the boots on! I fixed it by crimping the lacing hooks over into closed loops but really wish they had been the other way around. I almost returned them, but my old bison leather handsewns split a seam and I didn't have anything else to wear.
Otherwise the boots are comfortable and, with some breaking in, will serve my basic needs.
