owned lots of docs,these are the best ones yet,from looks,style,comfort,just knowing you have the best boots on than your friend will put a little pep in your step.

I have been wearing these for a year in a half, while travelling in France, Japan (twice) and walking in all sorts of places. I own a few other Dr Dr. Martens, too, so I can compare. The Toren design is perfect for me: these shoes are easier to wear because the leather is soft and light and they are not so rigid and heavy as the classic designs. Excellent walking / city / travel shoes. Also, they appear to be more spacious inside. I have no problem with Size 8, while the other Doc must be 9 in order to accomodate my toes. The Toren are slimmer and look better on you. I would not use them for work "to stand on the concrete floor all day" as the other reviewer wrote. These shoes are for moving - fast!

I bought these shoes 1 year ago to wear for work, and they are still holding up pretty well. That says a lot in itself since I work a full time job standing on concrete floors all day, and I typically burn through shoes within 6 months. With other shoes, I would have to replace the insole within a couple of months, but these are still the original ones and no back pain yet! They're stylish enough to wear casually, so they transition well if I'm going out right after work. They were a tiny bit snug at the beginning, but once they were broken in, they fit perfectly. It comes with two sets of shoelaces, which is nice, since the first set did eventually give up the ghost a month back. I have worn a hole in the back fabric covering the padding on one shoe, but the padding can just be pushed back into place, and again, they get a lot more abuse than the normal person will give them. Both the leather uppers and the sole are still in great condition and don't readily display the amount of mileage they've actually been subjected to. I've had a couple other pairs of Dr. Martens and these have been my favorite.

Comfortable shoes. Similar to most Doc Marten shoes, if you are not used to their shoes, they may feel slightly heavy (especially when you are trying to bust moves in a club), but I think that's what makes this shoes so sturdy.

The shoes came with extra pair of lace (one thin, the other thicker lace as seen on the product photo), which was also nice.

Compared to other dress shoes I have, these have good traction, but when I was trying to push a car up hill on a foot of snow, I kept on slipping, but then, you'd probably need good hiking shoes to do that kind of thing.

Overall, very comfortable, and makes you slightly taller as sole is thicker. Just not recommended for hard-core dancing or pushing heavy object on a foot of snow.

I bought these as a gift for my son. He likes Dr. Marten's because they wear well and they are guaranteed. Unfortunately, these were the wrong size.
