Durable Boots!
I got my Martens just a few hours ago. I can tell that they're durable shoes, much like the other reviews suggest. I could do anything in these, however, they're stiff as boards. As the other reviewers wrote, it would help to buy insoles and maybe give them a week to break in. Otherwise, they're great shoes, especially at the price I got them on Amazon.com!

"Made in China" Docs
Had I written a review for Docs when they were made in england, I'd given them a 5 easily. They were rugged (most pairs lasted me several years), were made from quality leather and the look and smell of them suggested a superior boot. Since they started to manufacture them in China, the quality has gone down. The leather is stiff as cardboard, signs of wear show...

"Made in China" Docs, August 1, 2007
Had I written a review for Docs when they were made in england, I'd given them a 5 easily. They were rugged (most pairs lasted me several years), were made from quality leather and the look and smell of them suggested a superior boot. Since they started to manufacture them in China, the quality has gone down. The leather is stiff as cardboard, signs of wear show more rapidly (surprising since I dont run in them like I used to) and it's not just my observation but others as well. Considering that they cost as much as they did when they were made in england, I'll be looking for another brand once these wear out.
