These boots are to die for! I now have them in black and wine, and if they made them in every other color I'd buy those too.

The fit is perfect, the leather is exquisite, and the craftsmanship is 100 % faultless.

They fit very true to size so there is no need to go up or down a size. They are made from quality leather so they do have to be broken in, just takes a little bit of time getting the leather to move and stretch with your legs.

Best of all, they are a classic style that can be worn for years. I won't be trading these in any time soon.

These boots are really comfortable, so it's a shame the calf area is too big. My legs are average size, and if the calf circumference was about 13.5 inches around, they would've been perfect, but these boots must be about 15 inches around the calf because they were way too big. Great if you're looking for a comfy pair of boots you can wear right out of the box, but not recommended for average to small calves.

My friend loves her Dr. Martens, and while I really loved them on her, their signature, more chunky-style boots were just not really me. So when I saw these more feminine style by Dr. Martens I had to try. Plus the price was great!

I received them, tried them on and I am immediately in love with these boots. They are very comfortable contrary to their very sturdy look. The boots are indeed made very sturdy, but they do not hurt my feet at all but in fact more comfortable than many other casual boots that I have tried in the past. I was able to walk around in them the very first time I wore them. They are well made and I am sure will last for a long time.

I've only tried them with casual mini-skirts (which looked great) so far but I think they will look great under jeans or even with less-casual clothes for work.

Now that this pair has popped my Dr. Martens cherry, I may try other styles from them... All in all this is a pair that will give you both truly great look and feel.

I love Dr Martens and these great boots are no exception. The leather is very good although I was not expecting the synthetic fabric lining inside. The rubbery sole and the mid-height heel is very comfortable and the boot fit my calf fine. The buckle and stitching details are very nice. As Dr Martens go for me, these run one-half to one size large and I really could have gone down one size but with a cushion insert and heavy socks they will fit perfect. OK, I admit, my size was unavailable but I could NOT pass up these fantastic boots for the sale price of less than $50.00!

I used to wear and love Docs back when I was a punk rock high school kid, so I am very excited that they are making boots for former punk rock high school kids turned indie rock legal assistants.

Now, I'm not at all sure of what constitutes "athletic calves," but I'm an athlete (martial artist and casual cyclist) who has calves, so I guess mine fit that description? These boots were tight around the top the first time I put them on, giving me something of a calf muffin top. After a few hours though, they had stretched quite nicely. The fit is snug, but not bindingly tight. I can wear them over a pair of jeans just fine. For me, the comfort disconnect is in the ankles. They're very stiff where the decorative band goes around the ankle and the shaft kept folding in a way that irritated my skin. After one wearing, they are already loosening up. I think within a week this will be a non issue. If not, I'll be sure to edit this review accordingly.

Ankles aside, these are extremely comfortable every day boots that put a bit more swing in your hips than the average pair of low heeled shoes. Buy them if you want to celebrate your femininity while embracing your inner tom boy. I'd advise other athletes with calves to order them, wear them around a carpeted area for a bit so as not to mess up the soles, and if they don't expand enough for you, send them back.

the boots look more expensive in real life. they fit perfectly an are comfortable to wear.

These are my favorite boots. I was worried aboutthe heels, but they are very stable. About 3-4 of my coworkers tried them on and loved them. The first time I wore them to work everyone commented on them. Good buy

Description advertises boot opening of 15.25 inches but it's actually 13.5 inches on a size 6 so they don't fit my muscular calves. Too bad because they're nice quality and have a comfie sole.

I've worn Docs since I was thirteen years old. When I became a "career woman" I found that Docs were not exactly the preferred footwear for business casual.

Thank you for growing up with us! These boots still hold the same standards of durability and comfort for which Docs are renowned, but are now great for me to wear, even as I near the great age of 40.

I have gotten so many compliments on these boots. My nieces say they are "way cool" and my friends say that they are quite fashionable.

I say THEY ROCK!

Definitely recommend these for those who know what Docs are all about!

I love these boots:

1) perfect fit. I wear 7 1/2, sometimes 8, ordered the UK 5 (US 7) and the foot fit is perfect.

2) the calf fit is perfect. I think I have "normal" calves: I run sometimes (but not a runner) and have a sedentary office job, so I'm neither super athletic or totally unfit.

3) the toe is somewhat rounded, but not a full half-circle like some rounded toes. The foot looks stylish but not freaky-pointy and not weirdly round.

4) the leather quality is great for this price point. These are NOT $450 boots! So you won't get butter soft calf. It is standard DM quality leather (trust me on this, I grew up a purple-haired punk rocker in the 80's and I know of which I speak).

The buckles/styling are hot, the height is great for boots or skirts, they're sexy and stylish and THEY'RE DOCS!!!! Who'da thought sexy and Docs in the same shoe? ;)

Also, the heel height is perfect for those who don't like a 2+" heel. They give the impression of being taller than they are.

Finally, the sole and shaft are cushy lined, and I expect that they will be well-insulated come the colder months.
